Hoping to go V fest this year, i'm 16, will be 17 and most of my mates will be 17-18 this will be our first festival though, i think thelineup looks good not as good as past ones but i'm not asking for opinion on the lineup, im worried about the tickets selling out there on sale on friday at 9 and think my mate is waiting on and booking them at 9 will we definately get them, were doing the weekend and camping so also any tips? and how strict are they with alcohol, can you take any in?

you'll be able to take as much in as you want.
check the website for the limit on tickets that one person can buy - you might need a few of you to ring up.

Limits 4 tickets per person. I'm hoping to go but missed out on getting them early so am going to have to try to get them on friday at 9.

Tips: get mashed and enjoy yourself!
In years gone by when I've been to V it's pissed it down all weekend so my advice would be park a bit further away from where you intend to set up camp. I'd suggest you stay in either to the gold or green campsites as they're a bit away from the 'main road' through to the arena plus the shitters are a bit better, trust me.
Take as much beer/cider/wine as you can fit into your car. You can take as much drink in as you can carry, you can always go back to the car if necessary. The odd illegal sustance doesn't go a miss if that's your thing but be careful taking it in, they've stepped up security with more sniffer dogs etc so if you get caught you don't get in but it's upto you.
With the line up being like it is there'll be tonnes of fanny there so get your face into as much as you can and fucking enjoy yourself pal.
I can't go this year cos I've sacrificed it for Benicassim and Soundwave, can't have everything.

I have been to V festival the last 5 years, you are allowed as much alcohol as you can carry just no glass bottles so mix your spirits before you go and cans are fine. Best campsite is probably orange as everyones still up for a laugh but not loads of idiots like you can get in red campsite. Getting booze into the main arena is fairly easy couple cans down the wellies or various other ways. If you get caught its no bother they just tell you to take it back to camp or down it there and then, everyones a winner.
