Dominic Cummings

I agree with that. The media are in over drive at the minute with this story. 24/7 news coverage and the sheer hatred in some of the questions asked today was so obvious. Even the 30 odd reporters stood outside his house.

no one was questioning Johnson on his policies today or asking about the pretty poor job his government have done recently.

the whole thing is ridiculous and the media as well as government look atrocious.

To be fair Cummings mentioned the government had made mistakes in dealing with Coronavirus. Johnson was then asked at the briefing to elaborate on these mistakes, which is a very pertinent question. He waffled and blustered and refused to allow follow up questions without providing an answer.

that made up a tiny section of today’s briefing - I think it was one question?. Even take the news for instance. I watched sky news for about an hour today and most of it was this story and about 15 minutes on the retail opening.

Most people probably missed that info

The media went with the story,we don't need them to show us what a shit show boris is making of things he won't admit to any mistakes, waffle waffle then cut them off,,interesting people blame the media for this

I agree mate. Just frustrating that when a question like that is asked we never get an answer anyway!

Any one framing this as a Left / Right issue disrespects those who have lost their lives so far and those who are yet to pass. Its not about Left or Right its about Wrong and Right and what Cummings did was just wrong.

agree, seeing a lot saying ‘’it’s just the lefties being bitter’ etc

forgetting 22 conservative MPs have called for his resignation

They are according to themselves Trotskyists. I get you're not a Tory, and from what you said not a Starmer fan, so I thought you're of the left but a Brexiteer, which is what Spiked are.
Sounds like I might be then! I also like to think I'm capable of thinking practically as well as ideologically (others might disagree) and for sure I would swap Brexit for a labour government. Even a Starmer government. Johnson is dangerously inept.

The media are focussing on it because this is now about far more than just Cummings. The potential repercussions due to their support of him (rather than just saying he cocked up and him showing an an ounce of contrition, which would have been enough to at least make the story just about his actions) are huge. It questions anyone fined up to this point, it raises questions for anyone with children and the guidance on seeing extended families, it questions what’s a reasonable excuse even just for driving, it questions why the government are willing to risk all of that for the sake of one advisor.

It is exactly the kind of thing the media are there for and should run with.

Am I right in hearing this prick say that, knowing he had badly affected eyesight as a result of the virus, he decided that a good sensible way to test if it was bad or not is to drive 60 miles with his kids in the car? Great plan. Is this bloke for real?

basically confessed to a motoring offence - if your eyesight is impaired you should not drive until you have undertaken an eye test. They will recommend whether you need specs or if you wear them whether you need a change of prescription. They will also tell you whether you need to declare to the DVLA who in turn may revoke your license.
