Dominic Cummings

Flabbergasting that he is still in the job this morning.

Sack him this morning and this afternoon the Tory party should start the process of replacing Johnson.

Gove defending him now.

They are all collectively losing their minds and any sense of what is required politically here including possible successors to Johnson.

At a loss to even begin to explain it?

Honest question.

Why does any of this come as a surprise to you?

The guidelines were as follows:
You could leave your house for any medical need and or to provide care or help a vulnerable person. Maybe, just maybe, he felt that was what he was doing.
Not sure why you persist in dragging this issue out, he did what he did as he thought he was doing the right thing for his four year old. You disagree that's fine, I don't which is also fine. If you want to brag to your mates that you have won an argument, go ahead.

The vulnerability aspect was for people at risk ie where staying put was a greater risk to health and life then staying put such as the risk of violence from an abusive partner. No child was at risk. Except for exposing the child to an infectious person in a confined space space for five hours or driving your family around whilst blind.

There were other family members close by in London. There were support services available. The edict of not travelling was to prevent services in more remote areas being overwhelmed by people travelling from more densely populated and infected areas, like London, to shelter in less populated areas, like Durham. The very thing that Cummings did. I could have decamped to a remote village in Lincolnshire. I didn’t.

if you think breaking the regs or looking for loopholes is fine then knock yourself out but if we had all done that we would be in a worst state then we are now so no people aren’t going to let it go.

Why were his circumstances so different to other households with children and the virus?

REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT REPEAT

It's being dragged out because I'm asking you, someone defending him, this one simple, critical question and you refuse to answer it and keep coming back with other nonsense deflecting from it.

Just stop replying if you can't come up with an answer.

Cummings is a liar, plain and simple. Taking us all for fools. The jury was out, but I think thats probably me done with this government.

We are only six months into a 5 year parliament and look how many gaffs and clangers they have dropped. The chancellor fucking off and falling out with Johnson with the way everything is run from number 10 rather than individual Ministries having control . Not bothering with Cobra meetings, too busy setting off fireworks outside Downing Street whilst a global pandemic builds up a head of steam. The ring of steel round our care homes turning out to be just a roll of tin foil, leaving our NHS up shit creek with out any PPE (has that plane come back from Turkey yet it’s been in the air for 3 weeks). Ignoring business who offered to help make PPE, herd immunity (we meant it - no we didn’t). The PM ending up in intensive care as you can tell with the rules they were peddling to us plebs they really didn’t adhere to themselves and believe in anyway. All the while slowly sleepwalking into a no deal brexit, have I missed anything?

The weird thing about the Cummings affair is that to defend him the Govt has to retroactively reinterpret their own rules and regulations on lockdown and throw millions of people, ie voters, who didn’t look for lockdown loopholes under the bus.

I’m not even claiming any moral high ground here. I observed, and still observe, lockdown rules for practical/selfish reasons as much as anything else. I have no idea why a Govt thinks upending everything because one unelected advisor did something stupid is a good look or makes any sense.

Ferguson had to go because he broke his own rules and he didn’t even leave his house. This buffoon is doing wacky races around the country and now it’s ’the right and sensible thing to do’?

I get that it’s funny but it makes zero sense.
And this morning i woke to the news that i will not be opening my shop on 1st of June as per government instruction and will now have another 2 weeks of earning fuck all.
FUCK THE ELITE.

in the main i agree, what doesn't wash is his bullshit story. i would have just said i have 4 year old,i did right by him so fuck you.

This has shown that there is a clique in the Tory party who are disenfranchised with Cummings and the whole regime in general.

I can see another May-esque implosion over the coming year/s.

It's also not good when a Brexit government is even being lashed on things by Brexit hardliners like Steve Baker....
