This is where I get lost. Somehow morons were convinced that electing somebody who had no idea about how government worked or even how the world works was a good idea. Nobody who is sick goes to a landscaper to get better because they're an "anti-doctor". How in the fuck could any reasonable person believe that childish insults and racism would fix any of our problems?

One Republican, Bob Corker, is seeking to stop at least his ability to push the red button without some more safeguards, but I can’t see how that ever sees daylight.
Meanwhile, the Republicans just voted to give a lifetime appointment to the Federal Judgeship of Alabama to a 36 yr old (with personal history with a few well heeled folks) who practiced law for only 3 yrs, never actually went to trial, and who tweets about “Hillary Rotten Clinton,” who he believes should be in jail! On the Committee, ALL Dems voted “No,” based on the UNANIMOUS decision of the American Bar Association’s decision declaring him unfit to serve as a Judge...the first time in history that has happened...while ALL Reps voted “Yes,” providing us the lowest ever bar recorded for a LIFETIME APPOINTMENT to the Federal Bench! Now, it is upto a few Reps in the Senate to vote against him or else he becomes a Judge for life!

Firstly you assume that no one should give a fuck as to the plight of others. He’s made healthcare unaffordable to millions. One may as well never comment or give opinion on any matter outside the country you reside in. Mugabe? Fuck it, it’s his country, no point getting wound up about it. “He’s invaded Poland has he? Not my problem.”
Second, the most powerful man in the world is someone that can influence a great deal that affects not just his forsaken citizens but the rest of the world as well. He’s pulled out of the Paris treaty on climate change endangering the future of everyone’s kids and grand kids. He’s taken apart at the seams the EPA. He’s in the pocket of the NRA and he’s a narcissistic **** which isn’t of itself an issue that affects me, but it does when he’s picking a Twitter fight with another lunatic who does have access to nuclear weapons and a thin skin.
To say “it’s a bit of a laugh” and ignore every major failing because “you kind of like him” just enables every other fucker to see you as someone who is obviously a fucking moron.
His win was very much to do with most of the Western worlds dissatisfaction with career politicians and the status quo.
He saw it, fed on it and won because of it.
