BK will be confirmed but this isn't going away.

There are enough people coming forward regarding his drinking and 'partying' to discredit him long term.

All this will do is diminish the Supreme Court.

The party line thing? That's, um, kind of already happening. And the the harder the nominee leans one way or the other, the more likely that becomes.

I'll look forward to the no doubt exhaustive list you'll provide of the list of candidates/nominees for a wide variety of control/leadership positions in all three branches of government about whom no one who opposes them has made up lies.

Or -- hey, here's a thought -- how about the nominee is actually appealing to both parties?
As in the first republican nominee who has a seat without democrats suggesting they were unfit.

So then every nominee gets lies made up about them, so everyone votes purely on party lines
Interesting that you are indicating that Christine Blasey Ford and at least two others are lying without any proof whereas BK has demonstrably lied in his testimony or at the very least has obfuscated to the point of lying and you seem to be defending him to the hilt.

You don't need proof of somebody lying. You need proof of truth. No belief is the default for any position ever.

Where has BK demonstrably lied?

Because such a person doesn't exist this close to the midterms.

And you're right, voting is along party lines anyway, so why even try to pretend and just put in whoever you want? So this whole BK thing is irrelevant and it doesn't matter if he's guilty of not, at least in your model.

So what you're suggesting is that we should switch to a system where we allow people to make up lies in order to reject candidates?

So you're essentially asking for the abolition of the Supreme Court?
That appears to be exactly what's being asked.

Articulate bullshit. He's up for the post of supreme court judge in case you had forgotten, not in front of a court of law. Proof of lying in front of the hearing rather goes against what one might realistically hope for in a judge wouldn't you say?
He lied, or if you are going to quote me at least don't cherry pick by removing my qualifications, "or obfuscated to the point of lying" by saying he wouldn't be drinking during the weekends as he was helping the homeless or whatever wonderful selfless acts he no doubt undertook neatly ignoring and steering the hearing away from the fact that the alleged assault took place during the week, whereas his calendar showed that he attended parties midweek. Most students would do this why suggest he didn't?
Also many other times as pointed out in the article linked a few (many, 20 pages or so?) back.
Also how about addressing the main point of my post that you partly quoted?

Let's have a look then.

Christine Blasey Ford’s allegations are ‘refuted’

"never saw Brett act in the manner Dr. Ford describes" -- Judge

"Ms. Keyser said under penalty of felony she does not know me, does not ever recall being at a party with me ever" -- Keyser

Their argument here is over the word "refuted" rather than the idea behind the word. Semantic arguments aren't great ones usually but those two statements, for me at least, when thinking that he was speaking off the top of head in an extremely high pressure situation where he has been accused of rape on international TV, I can give him that one.

Verdict: Nope

‘Never attended a gathering’ like the one described by Blasey

The HuffPo authors and BK can have very different ideas of what "like that gathering" means. HuffPo seems to take it to mean "a party where people are drinking" which BK has never denied. BK seems to be talking about a party where people get sexually assaulted. I would argue that HuffPo probably know this aswell.

Verdict: Nope

Blasey and Kavanaugh ‘did not travel in the same social circles’

HuffPo have messed this up. BK claims they didn't travel in the same circles and they dug up that his friend used to briefly go out with her for a few weeks in 1982 as a counter to this. That isn't what "travelling in the same social circles" means. A friend of mine briefly went out with Wayne Rooney, but I do not travel in the same social circles as Wayne Rooney.

Verdict: Nope

‘I did not drink beer to the point of blacking out’

BK is literally the only person on Earth who could know this. Many times I have also been drunk and had a vague memory about the night before but didn't black out. This shouldn't even be a discussion point. It's unfalsifiable.

Verdict: Nope

‘The drinking age was 18 in Maryland’

I have to be confusing this because it looks to me like HuffPo has actually supported him.

The drinking age was 18 in Maryland for most of my time in high school, and was 18 in D.C. for all of my time in high school -- BK

The legal drinking age was raised to 21 in Maryland when Kavanaugh was 17 years old in 1982 -- HuffPo

Verdict: I think I've missed the point here so I'll give this to them.

‘Boofs’ and ‘Devil’s Triangle’

Friends often have in-jokes, redefined terminology, etc. Also, one word can mean many different things depending on the context. There's no way to prove that Devil's Triangle isn't a drinking game and BK has several people who corroborate that it is. This is a really flawed argument to be honest; you can have 2 million people say that it doesn't mean a drinking game in their heads, but you only need a small group to say that it does for it to make sense. I used to play a drinking game called BlackJack. If you were to ask my Uni friends outside of the few who used to play along then they'd furiously deny this and say that it was a card game.

Verdict: Nope

‘Renate Alumnius’

Again, you can't ask other people what this person was thinking. It doesn't matter what a certain Georgetown Prep says he thinks it meant, it matters what the people who used it said that it meant to them. I can't even fathom how this could be considered an argument.

Verdict: Nope

‘Beach Week Ralph Club, Biggest Contributor’

They haven't even accused him of lying here so it's hard to judge this.

Verdict: Not even accused of lying.

‘No connections to Yale’

My maternal Grandmother is a Jew. My step-Grandfather was a member of Mao's Government. These are all things that I didn't know about my family until late on in life.

To suggest that this is a lie, you have to demonstrate that there was a known and emotional connection between his Grandfather AND that his Grandfather pulled some strings which they haven't. They haven't even made the connection that the Everett Kavanaugh in the Yale yearbook is the same person as the one who was BK's Grandfather. There's more than a few people in the phonebook with my Grandad's name. Presumably yours too.

Verdict: Nope

No one accused me of sexual misconduct ‘until last week’

Their point here is that Ford went to Feinstein in July. Unless BK is supposed to be stalking Ford, or Feinstein, or has some superhuman psychic abilities then I'm not sure how they're accusing him of lying here.

Verdict: Nope

Mark Judge’s memoir was ‘fictionalized’

But a note at the beginning of Judge’s book states, “This book is based on actual experiences.”

Yes, BASED ON. Like how West Side Story is BASED ON Romeo and Juliet. Or like how the millions of low budget crap horror movies that come out are BASED ON real stories where someone saw a chair move once.

Saying that something is "based on" experience is literally saying that something is NOT "actual experiences".

Verdict: Nope

Judge Alex Kozinski

Yeah he knew someone once, so what? He didn't claim he didn't. He claimed that he was surprised by these revelations and HuffPo have decided that a hill that they want to die on is whether they can "prove" that BK "wasn't really surprised". Good luck with that one lads, I'd love to see how you'd put that together if it wasn't in a shitty Top 10 list masquerading as an article.

Verdict: Nope

William Pryor nomination

Again, they haven't even accused him of lying here. Only "picking his words carefully".

Verdict: Not even accused of lying.

Judge Charles Pickering Sr. nomination

Scraping up a quote from 12 years previously and then STILL not accusing him of lying.

Verdict: Not even accused of lying.

Warrantless wiretapping

I'm presuming HuffPo thought nobody would bother to read this far down because they're AGAIN not accusing him of lying.

And once emailing discussing wiretaps in the aftermath of a terrorist attack doesn't mean that you had knowledge of a secret NSA program brought in 12 months later about wiretaps.

Verdict: Not even accused of lying.

Stolen emails

Same again

Verdict: Not even accused of lying.

When he learned of Deborah Ramirez’s allegations

When I say that I learned about something "in the period that City won the title in 2012", it doesn't literally mean "AFTER City won the title in 2012". It's a vague recollection that determines a period of time and not an exact science.

Verdict: Nope

Sucking up to Trump

As above.

Verdict: Not even accusing him of lying.

----

So I'll ask again, do you actually have any proof that he DEMONSTRABLY lied? Not "possibly maybe if you think about it like this" lied, but DEMONSTRABLY?

And please read it before posting. If you can see the holes in it then there's going to be a good chance that I can too as I'm actually looking for them.
