NOOOOOOOO! This is the mistake all snowflakes make, and it may even have cost Hillary the election! Even Bernie knew “VOTE FOR HILLARY” while many of his supporters made the perfect the enemy of the good, and ended up cutting their nose for to spite their face! How many Republicans do you know who ACTUALLY wanted Trump? Now, how many do you know who didn’t want Hillary or any Democrat?! Therein lies the difference between Rs and Ds...Rs know which side their bread is buttered, while Ds are arguing whether the bread is whole grain and whether the butter is organic from cows who were loved!

This election season, I don’t care who is on the R ticket, I am voting STRAIGHT DEMOCRAT (even in the local elections this Nov), because I will not reward or encourage what I have seen happen over the last FOUR years! Disgusting!

So this is a different conversation which we can have later if she makes a run, but I view her as just as potentially dangerous policy- and rhetoric-wise and as unprepared for the job as Trump in many ways. It's not the same as being mad my guy didn't get in and boycotting supporting Democrats/Clinton because of process. My perspective is specific to her. I likely would have supported Clinton over any red candidate save Kasich fyi, and certainly over Trump. That's not political -- I thought she'd make a very good President. Trump's defeat is very, very important to me but I'd view a Warren presidency as a very pyrrhic victory based on what I know about her and her policies today. I don't know that I can support her, but plenty can change over the next 2+ years.

I get your point and I myself am voting straight blue in the midterms save one candidate for a minor state government office but I don't know that this is a "message" given where I am located and how I already feel about my choices.

Not really. Trump refers to her as Pocahontas because she claimed Native American minority status in an attempt to use identity politics to further her career. From 1986 to 1995 she was listed as a "minority group" law Professor which enable greater access to opportunity reserved only for minorities, when Universities were attempting to increase the diversity in their staff. That's a dick move, basically.

Her evidence for this was her grandmother told her that she had Native American blood in her though that didn't seem to be the line until around 2012. I'm not sure what she said before that.

Her family argue this point. Warren once said that her parents had to elope because her mother was "part Cherokee" and her father's parents didn't like that. That seems to be a story that isn't credible according to other members of her family.

The latest DNA test shows that there is a chance that her great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather might have had Cherokee blood in him. To put this into some sort of context, he would have lived about 350-400 years ago and from that point is an unbroken line of White Europeans. About 1000 years ago, my ancestors were Norman but I don't call myself part Norse/French and I think it would be silly to suggest that Warren is trying to get out on anything but a technicality here. Probably because she's running for President in 2020, which would be a disastrous move for the Democrats but what isn't these days?

Trump uses identity politics on a fairly often basis in our terms but a rare basis by American terms. American politics is built on identity politics. Invoking Christianity or your patriotism is a form of identity politics and I'm not sure I've ever heard an American politician in my entire life who doesn't constantly bang one of those drums. Anything that says "you should listen to me because of this fact of birth" is in essence identity politics and it's the antithesis to egalitarianism.

So, that’s a yes then.
