He had "a bit of integrity"? Are you serious?

He was going to be wholesale impeached and convicted, that's why he resigned. Barry Goldwater himself told the President the night before he resigned that he thought Nixon had only four very firm votes in the Senate for him.

Cool.

Back to Trump because he isn't about to be wholesale impeached is he nor is he about to be convicted and yes, what he has done is worse than what Nixon did but I'm saying this current process is doing sweet fuck all in reality.

That is all!

Some of these argument are mind-boggling to me.

"Hey, sir, we think we know who was raping your sister."

"Who?"

"That man over there. We have a bunch of evidence, and he's actually even admitted that he did it, but there's not much we can do about it."

"Wait. Why not?"

"Well, see, we have to wait four years before we can prosecute him. And then actually we don't. We ask the people to decide whether he should be removed from his job. not for raping her, but based in whether he was any good at his job."

"What about my sister?"

"Oh. Well, I guess he's free to keep raping her as often as he likes because there's nothing we can do about it."

Usual hyperbole and over reaction.

No talking or discussing anything with some.

Enjoy your impeachment.

Haha this fucking thread.

"Down dogs......down"!

At no point have I stated it's a good idea to leave him in power, I've just said the process to remove him is about as much use as a chocolate fireguard.

I get that, but you haven't really offered a compelling case as to why impeachment is "useless". Do you not see that without it, Presidents can commit crimes in office with no consequences, other than not getting re-elected? You must a have a process for removing a President, and it's a pretty stiff process when you recognize all the steps in it and the 2/3rds majority needed in the Senate to convict. As partisan as US politics is, this is only the 3rd president out of 45 who's been impeached and two weren't convicted.

You can't just call it hyperbole. Tell me where I am wrong. Argue your point. "Impeachment doesn't work" isn't an argument. If you think we should do away with it, how are criminals in elected office removed, especially when they can't be arrested or indicted as the President cannot be while in office (recall he's in charge ultimately of the DOJ and all law enforcement)?

Why don't you understand that it's not a good idea to leave a criminal in his job?
An MP that get's caught fiddling his expenses has to resign. Trump's crimes in office are much bigger but they have to wait for the next election to get rid of him? Makes no sense.

If I have this wrong please tell me as I don’t follow American politics so am not up on their political system so - surely if someone has committed a crime It should be dealt with by the law and a trial with non partisan people deciding on the verdict. It seems pretty mad that if the Potus Has been accused of breaking the law he gets saved by members of his own party or gets condemned by members of the opposition.

Going by the split of the vote it seems obvious not many are voting on integrity and it’s just a political farce.

I have. I've said politics is so angry and entrenched, the divides so big that no **** is going to do anything other than vote for their side regardless of what they might feel or think personally.

Like it or not, you the American people will decide his fate so get on with doing it come the next election.

It really is that simple.

That's not an argument. That is your observation about the state of the world.

Campaign to change your constitution rather than wailing at the Bluemoon would be my best advice.

Impeachment as a tool is fucking useless in all reality.

Just curious, were you a fan of Bill Clinton? I was and still think he was a good president
