I think they've gone too far with Trump.

They had their chance when they should have voted to remove him after he was impeached. The GOP would be in a much stronger position now. I'm guessing they never factored in something like COVID-19, but then hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Just imagine if the impeachment hearing was 3 months later than it was?

There is a long way to go in the election but the shit show now impacts the fundraising of the crucial months in the lead in. And it gives voters plenty to think about. The election ads write themselves. Those odds on Biden are way too short. I'd be looking at them taking the Senate as well.

Would not have mattered at all. It’s a cult. May have been seen as even more of an affront — “You’re trying to impeach a President in a time of national crisis!!!”

His supporters will not waver ever no matter what. Biden’s ads should do nothing but show other Democratic presidents in times of crisis (Kennedy, FDR, Obama in 08 and killing OBL) and draw the parallel to Biden. Drive blue turnout. Drive home the message of experience and empathy. Trump is going to do literally nothing but bash Biden because he has nothing else. Biden needs to 8-mile Trump. “I know everything he’s got to say against me.”
