North Korea borders both and they won't want a unified US backed Korea with American military bases on their land border.

No they wont, but they wont go to war over it, they have already got US bases on their borders. Infact in some respects they may prefer that than having some very unstable people in charge of an increasingly large nuclear arsenal. After all Moscow and Beijing will be within range of Kims missiles.

I think that you are both right and I think that there may be a modern version of the Cuban missile crisis looming.

I can see China and Russia being 'eventually persuaded' to force NK to disarm, because they become convinced that Trump will undertake a pre-emptive strike.

I am definitely no fan of Trumps but the UN has been an impotent force for decades - they will not be used to such blunt speaking - but a lot of people have been thinking for decades that the UN needs to find/re-establish its purpose and having it called out as such may not be a bad thing?

USA warships can easily prevent (I am guessing to a degree) any missiles launched by NK from going very far.

I still dont think anything will happen. The con's outweigh the pro's on both sides. An nuclear armed North Korea is something to be fearful of though.

I'm fairly sure if North Korea stops fucking around with Nuclear weapons and flirting missiles over Countries then America wouldn't care what they did internally. It will end badly if Kim carries on I think.

I reckon Melania Trump must be one of the most conflicted people on the planet.

On the one hand, by virtue of her marital status, and the background she came from, she is clearly a singularly ambitious individual. She must hugely enjoy being FLOTUS and all the benefits that confers upon her.

On the other, I'd be hugely surprised if her marriage wasn't a deeply unhappy one, with, at the very least, coercive control at its very heart, and very possibly much, much worse. Nothing would surprise me.

She's climbed higher than she could possibly have imagined, but has it been worth the sacrifice?

I doubt you know anyone who currently leads a more happy and productive life than me - and if you knew anything about my life's journey then I'd be staggered if you'd demur from that assertion.

Please don't mistake thoughtful analysis for bitterness. Right now, my life is about as good as it gets. Genuinely. Maybe that won't last, but for now, I'm in clover, but thanks for your concern.

Have you ever worked in or dealt with the media except as a reader/listener? I'll bet plenty you haven't. But I have -- TV and print. So you tell us -- in as condescending a way possible, quelle surprise -- to "think for ourselves" -- then toss out such a stupid, ludicrously misinformed, lazy generalized stereotype. Instead of telling you to think for yourself, I'd just prefer you didn't.
