Until 1-2 weeks ago, you were correct, they had completely steady infection rates... now the 7 day moving average has doubled in that space of time, and that average is on an upward march.

I look at the Worldometers data https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/country/us/ and do a rough calculation of %age of new daily cases versus total cases per state. If it's anything over 2-3% then that states in trouble.
eg 20000 total cases, with 400 new cases is 2%
 
I'm a bit confused about slowing testing.

Trump says he asked for it to be slowed.

White House says he was joking.

Trump says he never kids (only sarcasm occasionally).

Fauci says no-one has been asked to slow down testing.

Favourite explanation - Trump lied about slowing down testing and lied about not joking about it. Is there any virtue in lying about something that if true would make him directly responsible for added deaths?
 
Not as confused as I am over the Confederate flag and statues. They are symbols of people who were anti-American - they wanted out, they were nor prepared to accept what was the direction of travel in America. Yet to object to them is somehow the sign of a traitor? This seems to me like Remainers adopting the EU flag as their symbol and importing it into the emblems of remain voting seats and councils and when being questioned as to the reason for their action Remainers claiming Leave was destroying their culture...............its that fucking mad. Americans being told and worse still believing that Mexicans and Muslims are their enemy not the people who don't want to be part of America................

Its the Bannon play book. Baiting the libs, dominate the news agenda, move from one scandal to the next. Some scandals are self generated the, subject matter is carefully chosen to steer the debate and the timing is usually to do with moving on from an externally generated scandal that doesn't play well for him. Throw some fake news accusations in the pot and generic bullying via twitter and you can get away with anything, the kind of revelations that would end most other politicians just bounce of him because he operates in a world wind of scandal and outrage. We are all in part to blame for how successful this strategy is. The true crimes get watered down in the volume of issues that trail in his wake.

The question is how long can he keep it spinning, not all of it plays well, some is very damaging and it wears away at the edges of his base. It is all a big distraction from the underling fact that he is a grifter who is unfit for office.

If he keeps up these appearances, which he obviously will, he'll undoubtedly get infected.

Looks and sounds like school kids at a panto.

In all seriousness, can he keep this kind of schedule going and also have a cavalier attitude to the virus and not get ill or burn out before November. Biden is mostly sat at home and its not harming him in the polls.
