Anyone of us could have been held hostage or murdered, trump did nothing to help us as we cowered

Can you look your children or grandchilden in the eyes if you aquit

You’re not wrong, it was obvious they knew they had as many gop votes to convict as they’d get and passing covid stimulus package/confirming appointments is/was more important than a two month trial that wouldn’t move the needle.

Atlantic pretty much makes the argument I did. Whether the majority of Americans want justice or revenge for Trump, he’s significantly diminished as a danger and a political force, and that’s a function of the night of the election and his role in Jan 6. And there are going to be plenty of incoming opportunities for justice or revenge that are less reliant on the votes of lickspittle cowards with something to lose. And those very cowards may lose their jobs anyway. Then they’ll have no power AND no hono(u)r. Vote. Them. All. Out.
