The hilarious irony of this, beyond that he is making this statement at the Detroit Economic Club, is that Detroit actually has one of the highest rates of economic growth of any city in the US at present, largely due to the work and policies of their Democratic government (mayor and entire city council). They obviously started at a very low level after the bankruptcy, and relative affordability compared to most other metros on the US has contributed with incoming population and investment, but the turn around they are helping to realise is impressive, especially in the context of the challenges they have—and continue—to face.
It would actually be great if every city, after Harris was elected, had the trajectory of Detroit.

Agreed. But to be fair (not that DT has ever played fair in his life) the Harris campaign also relies heavily on "no more Trump". I hope and pray she wins but her "an economy of opportunity" slogan and promises of help for small businesses & home buyers don't exactly have the powerful ring of "a New Deal" or LBJ's "Great Society." In her favo(u)r she at least projects a humane approach to people and problems rather than be consumed with personal pride and revenge.That’s his whole platform. Maybe because he was publicly outed by at least one of the crew of The Apprentice years ago for regularly snorting Adderall and soiling himself on set. He soiled himself so often that the producer delegated one of the crew named Keith Schiller to help clean him up every time he shat himself and the poor guy was immediately nicknamed Wet Wipes by the rest of the crew. This, and the claim he wears Depends adult diapers, was publicly revealed yet the normally highly litigious Trump (ludicrously he even tried - and failed - to sue CNN for calling his stolen election bullshit The Big Lie) has never issued a lawsuit against any of the crew on The Apprentice in the intervening years.Surprised he's not ranted about Obama's diapers gag last night.
I would love for Scott Jennings to watch this again and explain what's changed.
