I have only one prediction and it won’t take 4 years.
The initial cordiality between opposing sides in here will be very short lived.
Probably best if I ( with no skin in the game, per se) stay out for my own sanity if nothing else.
I find the direction America is taking very disturbing on one hand, mainly because of your global influence, while on the other, as you probably gathered from my contributions, it’s not totally unexpected. I see so many paradoxes in the United part of the States of America.
Regular US contributors in here vary, some hoping for a survival over the next 4 years while others perhaps are letting what’s left of their cordial masks slip already and showing what I consider a very real understanding of what their vote meant.
By that I mean, I perhaps am reading between the lines in some contributions, which is always at risk of being a misinterpretation I know.
But I see no naivety in what they hoped for in voting Trump in. This is exactly what was endorsed and this is what they both hoped for and expected.
That’s the way I see it.
Those of us on this side of the Atlantic looking on, can only look on with interest and hope for the best for you all, but I personally have no great hopeful prognosis for what is about to unfold.
Anyway, I’ve an Irish election to think about in two weeks.
Scratching my head with that one. It’s enough for me. I’ll sign out and leave you to it.
