Donald Trump

What is in the food and water over there?
Look - we're probably headed fascism and time will tell if American institutions can prevent this.

But - my friend - your nation voted for Brexit. And other nations are similarly afflicted.

Populism is a global phenomenon - not unique to the USA.

Just wondering...

How many of those who voted for Trump are ecstatic about his nominee to run the Department of Health And Human Services? If you're a vaccine denier - I guess you're elated. But if you've lost loved ones due to COVID who refused to vaccinate - what are you thinking now?

And Trump's pick for this post - a science-denier, anti-vaxxer with no qualification whatsoever for the post - is only the tip of the iceberg.

Bottom line is - you personally are probably going to be FUCKED BIG TIME.

Anyhow, we'll see how this plays out - massive loss of US life due to Trump is possible on numerous fronts.
Anyone who voted for Trump, given all the signs that there were for all to see, has fuck all right to complain about anything he does or says for the next four years.

Very true. I think far right and populist rhetoric has landed on fertile soil with the huge growth in social media.

People who voted for face eating leopard "not happy" to find their faces chewed off.

I'm very much in the lets wait to see how it actually is camp re trumps second term and have little time for the hysterical scare stories. FFS, though. Come on Muslims, it's not like he was exactly nice to you first time round is it?

The USA is the 'free' worlds de facto leader and we have let them fight all our wars and become the worlds policeman whilst we all sit on our arses and assume the moral high ground. All very comfortable for ourselves don't you think? Be protected by the military might of the USA whilst granting ourselves the luxury of always being the good guy.
You think the USA did it out if the goodness of their hearts, they wanted to dominate the world and they have, however China might have a big say on that now with the massive build up of their military. Can you tell me a war the USA have been involved in that the U.K. hasn’t? Gulf war 1/2, Bosnia, Afghanistan . Smaller conflicts like Somalia etc I don’t think anyone asked if they wanted usa to go they do it for regime change to favour them and what they want and when it no longer suits fuck off, Afghanistan been one. 9/11 happened because Bush said he no longer wanted to police the world and took their eye off the ball. Whether they like it or not with great power comes great responsibility, if they pull back and become insular they will only have to do it all again when the orange gibbon has gone and China is taking over Africa for resources (which they already do) but more aggressively and Trump realises how just drilling for oil might not cut it in the new world
