Donald Trump

No. The army of the Republic of Ireland occupying part of Belfast without uk permission. Technically that is an invasion.
ah. So we were talking about the same thing although I said Derry.
Yes it would have been an invasion of sorts however tactical. Regardless of the civil rights issues. And there are arguments that what was agreed in 1922 was never implemented, but this is not the thread to go down that road.

But ‘invasion!’ , well it never happened. Regardless of the calling for it Jack Lynch did not sanction such an action.

I wonder how different things might have been had it happened.

Voting for Trump isn't a directly rational choice. But he's so unpredictable that it's possible to vote for him hoping to open Pandora's box.

Trump isn't a sycophantic zionist loyalist like Biden, every interaction with him is transactional.
He's done some transactions with the Christian Zionists.

That's correct. But Trump is transactional in the sense that he is willing to go back on a deal if there is a fresher more attractive deal. Biden's principles as a Kool-aid drinking zionist were unwavering.

As I said thinking that Trump might be the better option is also based on the "logic" that sometimes things have to get worse for them to get better.

He's having Kennedy Jr as health secretary? Fucking hell...he's a conspiracy theorist antivaxxer! The liars have won!

To be fair, aside from his anti-vax nonsense he is 100% correct to challenge many aspects of health because who else was doing such a thing despite the huge health problems in America?

Challenging the UPF processed food industry is extremely important for example and it's absolutely something that we should be doing here in the UK. However, successive politicians aren't doing that and it can only be because they have a vested interest in the protecting the wellbeing of food companies.

The media should DEFINITELY not be trusted on this. I just read a supposed fact-checked article on RFK Jr from the BBC and they actually attempted to discredit his claim that UPF's cause obesity by instead saying that the evidence is unclear. Incredible! Why on earth are the BBC running programmes and a narrative of the dangers of UPF's then if it's unclear?

It deserves a conversation and it entirely deserves for people to look at the evidence instead of gluing themselves to the blindless politics of everything. To have somebody in a post like that and challenge the norms is refreshing. Either way what is there to lose? Over the last 4 years the current Democrat US health secretary has overseen only a worsening of obesity and preventable health problems.

Yeah...but he's still an antivaxxer liar conspiracy theorist. So what...he's gonna be right on a few issues but he's still a ****. Does he care about all the COVID deaths in the US caused by anti-vax lies?

There was absolutely nothing wrong with that bbc article to be fair, it was factually correct. He didn’t just link UPFs to obesity either.

UPF in isolation don't cause obesity. Too many calories, a lack of a varied diet and little to no exercise (not burning calories) causes obesity. The UPF industry does need better regulation, but years and years of successive governments ignoring the problem is the issue, and in a $ multi-billion industry, you can understand why governments have been reluctant to act.

If RFK wages all-out war on UPF, the food industry it could have disastrous consequences on the industry as a whole, and the knock-on effects to the economy will be huge. It certainly won't be these wealth politicians that suffer the consequences. It's going to take baby steps over numerous years to fix.
