He doesn't have policies. He has the vaguest suggestion of things he might do. And anything that sounds affirmative or a conviction will have been contradicted by the end of the day.
He likes Tarifs, anything from 0 to 200.
He wants to ban abortion, maybe, maybe not.
He wants to end inflation. No mention of the fact the FED are responsible for interest rates and potus has no control over the FED. No mention of how he will have any influence on inflation.
Mass deportation, sure. No mention of how, we know in Europe its significantly harder than you think it could be.
I could go on and on. In short, it's policies for people that don't know what a policy should look like.
So he has a mandate for nothing. Its a big mandate and full control over the government to deliver it. But he doesn't really have policies.
I think there is genuine rationale for calling Trump voters idiots. I know the Trump fans on here don't like it. But what else can you call it. He has no policies - yet they like his policies.Of course.

If you voted for him, you rationaliz(s)ed that somehow -- doesn't matter how or why.
I will admit calling this a "moral failing" on the part of his voters is unfair. Calling them "stupid" is unfair too.
But I will say this:
Why would I trust your ability to make good decisions about other things after you rationali(z)sed picking Trump, for whatever reason?

My fear is that folks who supported him never realiz(s)e — let alone admit — that they made a mistake. And then they make worse ones next time. I think the reality for many is they don't like establishment politicians and voting for Yrump is the closest thing to kicking all politicians in the balls. Some of them are almost willing to acknowledge that is that case. They know Trump is one of the great arseholes of all time.
It's similar to Brexit, one of the stupidest decisions a country has ever made. Many who voted for it came to accept they made the wrong choice. But they got that kick in that one time. They stuck it to the man and enjoyed the fall out.
Thats just it. Pandoras box has been opened. He's apparently also refusing to sign the code of ethics which is supposedly a requirement for handover. But, he'll refuse, call their bluff and nothing will happen and he'll be in charge. There are no ethics anymore.I’m more scared that morality/quality just doesn’t matter. It’s just “policies” — which he will utterly fail at implementing, but which will be excused away and ignored, just as his moral failings are. Which will then make moral failings irrelevant for all future candidates.
