downloading movies/series etc

due to the lack of good tv at the moment i was advised my my mate (milo) to watch "6 feet under" so i got the first series of ebay for a fiver,i am at present half way through and well into it and going to have to watch them all,so geting to the point i wish to download the other series onto dvd,so what sites do i need to visit to do this,do i need to install anything to do this,is it safe(virus's) or may it be just as cheep to just buy he fookers of ebay.....
