Thinking of the Driving TOI and the thought came to me, what would be the best pubs to visit? Those with a bit of life to them. Music would be a must for any I would want to go to.

Anybody got any recommendations?

Doolin is effectively the capital of Irish Music in Ireland so you can't go wrong.
Try:
Gus O'Conners for real traditional Irish music (they take it serious)
McGanns or McDermotts are also a decent shout.

Just get off the ferry or the plane and drive down the west coast stopping when you feel like it - you really can't go wrong.

A lot of them don't "drink", they just neck the stuff straight down. I swear to God, if a way was invented to inject alcohol intravenously, it'd be a raging success over here!

We would be open to that up here too. We and the Irish have the same relationship with booze. Not me though, my let’s try and drink myself into a coma days are over. It’s the recovery time now that makes that not the best idea I could come up with.
