instead of putting GB plates on put Wales or Scotland tags on. Less chance of getting pulled by the gendarmes. (ooh-err)
Avoid the French national holidays when travelling, and all of August.
Very fair point again.
Having said that I was quite welcome in 2004 wearing an England shirt in SW France as world champions after they had won the Grand Slam.
My experience is that most French people are very kind especially if you speak Francais to them.
I agree about the french holidays and if you want to practice francais, <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tf1.fr" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tf1.fr</a> is very good.
Don't get me wrong pd, after living there for a few years i grew to love the country and was shown remarkable kindness. The coppers on the other hand...
I agree about trying to speak a bit of lingo as well. The basics like please, excuse me, thanks etc can get you a long way. And the French women love the sound of an English man speaking French.
We've not been since 2004 and maybe the police dislike us for euro reasons. #speculation
Pure guess work.
I love France and French people. They'll always have a place in my heart.#manyhappymemories
