Dropping out of the top 4 - potential repercussions?

West Brom is more important than a Champions League game at the Nou Camp.

Couldn't make it up, you really couldn't.

Summed it up m8 the players are a disgrace the way they have let it slip this season...

We've got relegation form right now and clearly that's a massive worry.

Worst season since the takeover.

It's interesting because for me me it definitely feels as if this season is worse than Mancini's last season and that was a shocking season and one that I didn't feel could be topped.

I think we could see the players had just fallen out of love and just didn't get on with Mancini 2 years ago, this season it's mostly because of shocking tactical decisions, poor motivation and recently a sense that the players have started to question Pelegrini's management decisions.

The frustration this season comes from knowing we haven't leant from our mistakes from that final Mancini season, maybe that's why it feels worse.
Oh, Sam. Really? You didn't think it could ever get worse than finishing second?

Been saying for months now that we were in a battle for top 4, most people didn't want to listen but we really are in the shit storm now.

At the risk of offending you pessimistic guys.

Man Utd are crap facing in the next six games arguably the toughest run of any team this season. Check it out.

You are second a point ahead of Arsenal and tomorrow see Man Utd and Spurs taking points one way or another off each other

You will beat Man Utd at OT

Chelsea are not doing that well

Back end of the season only two teams seem in form, Liverpool and Arsenal.

They'll likely qualify in top 4 along with those nailed on i.e. you lot and Chelsea

The idea you won't finish top 4 is ridiculous. You have a brilliant squad.

Jesus...

Yeah we do have a brilliant squad, but having a brilliant squad means nothing if you don't work as a team.

Have you forgotten that you are the Champions ?

You'll be top 4
We're the champions of nothing. We were the champions of last season. We had three months to celebrate that but then as soon as the first ball is kicked in August there is no such thing as "champions" . This season the champion hasn't been crowned yet.

I think that's been our problem in both seasons following us winning the league.

We should stop singing that stupid champions of england chant as a message to the players and staff, we aren't playing like champions and the players don't deserve to hear it chanted at them... chant and sing by all means, we need to support them. But over flattery is'nt warranted.

Or as a compromise we could just change the "are" to "were".

I don't get why pelles is getting all the stick, he does't send his team out to play the way we did against burnley. The players where a disgrace today, and showed no passion for the club. They have form for this under two managers now. And some of our big players need to be moved on. Need big changes at board level too. We've made the same mistakes after a title winning season twice now and thats unacceptable. I don't think pellegrini is the man for the future. But to blame him for everything is unfair.
Txiki bergiristain

Thank you for everything, but get the fook out of our city. Fresh blood needed or we're not in top 4 simples

In the event that we were to drop out of the Champions League it would be a setback but not a catastrophe providing we get back into it quickly.

For me, the greater shame would be that FFP would have achieved the purpose for which it was created albeit, to some extent, aided and abetted by a number of factors of our own making and that would be greeted with great glee in certain quarters.

I don't subscribe to the players "aren't arsed" or that Pelligrini "is tactically inept", I think a catastrophic lack of form in key players at the same time is making it look that way. The question is whether they can rediscover some form between now and the end of the season. We'll see soon enough.

In the end City will comfortably finish top 4, but the mere fact that its being discussed shows that there is something seriously wrong behind the scene.
Players who regularly put teams to the sword last season seem to be just strolling around.
