This is a debate which I'm really quite interested in. What's your opinion? I used to be very anti-drug, @SWP's back quite rightly had a dig at me a couple of years ago when I made a comment about purposely pissing on the toilet of certain clubs so people couldn't sniff (how naive was I).

I'm now very much of the opinion that this country needs to take the Dutch approach, we need to make things safer. It's not a war we can win, there will always be drugs, people will always take them. In Holland you can get your pills tested to see what's in them, which is much safer than randomly taking things.

I'm lucky, I've not really had a bad experience (well, apart from forgetting it was my birthday and wishing my housemate happy birthday for a good five minutes, on MY birthday, lol) however I have seen people take things and they're not 100% sure what it is. It's not nice, however there are measures we can take, and I really want to see some advances in safety in this country.

Ecstasy is at an all-time high among young people. Cocaine is very much affordable. Weed is being legalised across America.

Instead of striking fear, let's try and educate.

Never seen the point of weed being illegal. As for the rest bring in mandatory life sentences for supplying them and see how long they survive.

So you would get a life sentence for supplying an E but you would not for being a nonce, rapist or armed robber? That makes sense.

I'm pretty much on the "legalise it and tax it" scale for pretty much every drug, but more experience working with young kids who have had their lives and prospects absolutely wrecked by their or their parent's drug use has calmed that a bit.

Is there anyone who isn't in favour of legalising drugs, and doesn't work in the legal services and prisons, and or doesn't sell on the black market themselves?

I'm %110 convinced to legalise it all.

Please point out where I recommended that nonces and rapists should get less severe sentences.
You didn't. But the current tariff for those offences is not life imprisonment. If you are insinuating that the sentences for those offences also be increased then fair enough.
The drug laws in this country are pretty pathetic really. In the eyes of the law you are a criminal if you go out, take a tablet, dance all night and then go home to smoke a joint before falling asleep, even though you did not bother absolutely anyone. What a load of bollocks that is.

Legalise and tax it. Ensure purity like we do with alcohol.

We'd kill organised crime in a decade.
