Officially worst football since Pearce tonight
I'm trying to compare this period with other bad ones since the Pearce days. 19/20 certainly wasn't as bad as this and I don't think 16/17 was either. I think 15/16 under Pellegrini is comparable, although we did win a cup and made the CL semi-final for the first time. 08/09 was a chalk and cheese season with some great home matches but dreadful showings on the road. The second half of Sven's 07/08 season saw the arse fall out of it after such a promising start.Officially worst football since Pearce tonight
Comment was in jest but it is the worst run of results since Pearce according to Tnt, so who knows another treble might be on cards!I'm trying to compare this period with other bad ones since the Pearce days. 19/20 certainly wasn't as bad as this and I don't think 16/17 was either. I think we can only really fully judge it in the fullness of time. If we do good business in January then we can repair much of what has gone wrong. The problem with what we're seeing now is that it is neither effective nor entertaining. So when the parallels with Pearce come out, you know it's seriously wrong.
