Well, life is like that. Relationships are difficult for most people Rach. Those with magnetic personalities, bags of charisma and huge whatnots seem to fare OK but for us mere mortals (not meant as a slight on your huge whatnots BTW) it is all trial, error and tribulations at first. But, to put it bluntly, if at the end of the day he didn't want to continue the relationship, then it is best to end it sooner rather than later. Three f'ing years I spent in my first relationship and all the time knowing it was never going to work because she didn't feel the same way about me as I did about her and yet breaking up affected me for several years after. But meeting her again last year, some 30+ years later, I realised I'd had a lucky escape. You'll meet the right person someday, it is just a matter of looking beyond any obvious physical attraction to shared interests and values - and recognising them when you see them. Looks fade but personality persists.
