Dunne to spuds

i think dunney is one of those players that people turn a blind eye as regards to his quality. but jump on every little mistake he makes. He's still a great player. Good enough for a top 6 club. I'd have him over most defenders in the prem if you take away the top 4 teams and even over some of them.
If we do get someone else i hope he stays because it wont belong till he has forced his way back into the side.

I would keep Dunney as back up! He does have some good qualities, but I uppose it depends whether or not he wants to be a bench warmer, or in Stuart Pierces' words "sitting around being a chocolate teapot" haha

Richard Dunne has been a good servant for us and i would like to keep him as back up but i think he would want first team football, good luck to him if he goes and i for one would applaud him if he came back with another team.

dunney has been class for years lets let him go out with bit of dignity n nt slate him

apart from the occasional unexpected error he is an exceptional defender, but is sometimes caught out by top class forwards like Torres

It wasn't unexpected though was it, every year you could put your mortgage on Dunne making some colossus fuck ups. If he goes though good luck to him i hope he does alright for himself.

they can have him..

some of you have short memories, he's been a rock over the years and yes I think even Dunney would admit to a poor season, but some of your "off the cuff" comments are below what Dunney deserves after such loyal service that saw him pick up 4 yes 4 player of the year awards.......... or maybe you didnt see them!!!!!!

Gutted if he goes. Spuds, will do very well with Dunne in their back four next year. Arrys!! not daft.

Exactly why he is no longer good enough. No place for sentimentality any more. The current crop of players finished 10th. Plenty are not good enough. I loved him when our aspirations were to stay up and he deserved his player of the year awards but now it is time to move on.

I don't necessarily want to see the back of Dunnie, although last season he was pretty poor at times, he's been great for us over the years...

But at 29, like Barry at 28, he may be looking for a fresh challenge and a final pay-day. He isn't going to be guaranteed a start (hopefully) so good luck to him, but with the Club Captain leaving it also makes the way smoother for the proper transition to the new City.
