has anyone had a full leg length DVT on here?

I am managed to get myself one four months ago and it's showing no sign of going away so I'm just curious to know how long other peoples took to clear up.

Thanks

Is this about Deep Vein Thrombosis? I get calf muscle cramps quit often which are painful enough thankfully never had DVT.

wife got it after a long flight
not sure it was full length though
good job we had insurance as the doctors fees and injections she had abroad was expensive

was on a six month warfarin and injection course once she got home
although it cleared up and she wears those flight socks the vien in her leg still swells occasionally on flights so we have to be extra careful

Yes I'm on blood thinners. I got mine from a flight but was hoping it would've cleared up by now as it's giving me some right grief.

My eldest daughter, 34, had one about 3 years ago, and a piece of the clot broke off, travelled north and went through her heart and lodged in her lung - known as a pulmonary embolism. Fortunately, it broke up passing through her heart, or she wouldn't be here. She'd had a PE as a teenager, so they tried her on warfarin. That didn't work, so she has an injection into her stomach every night of Clexane (sp). On her mobile, it comes up as Bruisedbelly (it used to be a Blackberry!). She has to wear those stockings whenever she flies - in 2016 she had 64 flights!

It happened 3 days before her birthday, and I told her how lucky she was - I could have been arranging her funeral instead of her birthday. It was a Monday, and she was in work on Friday taking a VIP on a factory tour, ( I think I may have mentioned she works for Bentley motors) and got a bollocking from one of the directors for being in. She phoned me up the following week in tears on her way home, saying she had just heard that an actor on the Law & Order series had just died. Yep. He'd had a DVT, a piece broke off, and stopped his heart.

It certainly brought it home how lucky she was.

Sorry about the above, but it's a serious subject. Fortunately, the medical profession work wonders to treat this complaint, and you should be fine. My mum had 3 over the years, and lived to be 84. The last time my blood was checked, I was told that it was highly unlikely I would have one, so that's one thing less to worry about. I'm told watching City is incurable.

Thank you

I didn't want to go into it all but I ended up with 6 clots in my lungs and suffered a major PE and had a heart attack as well. I was 5 days in intensive care in Dubai. I feel ok part from my leg which constantly batters me and I'm just hoping it goes away quite soon. I'm
Glad you daughter went well and tbf that's cheered me up knowing it will get sorted so appreciate it mate

Hope your leg gets sorted soon - the warfarin (or whatever you're on) should break down all the blood clots over time, including the ones in your lungs. You having had a heart attack as well was probably due to the clot passing through and then breaking up. You pulled through, that's what is important. Hope you make a full recovery. Just don't come to the Etihad in the next few months - you don't need the stress!

Had a subclavian thrombosis 14 years ago, woke up with a swollen arm and looked like i'd been power wanking for months.
I took warfarin for the next 13 years ( they found out i have factor v leiden blood disorder) with no problems and then just prior to Christmas in 2015 a new consultant i saw decided it was ridiculous i'd been on warfarin for so long and stopped my treatment, much to my dismay.
6 weeks later i had a DVT in my leg ffs but it could have been so much worse and i was very very lucky. I'm now on Apixaban for life and feel so much better than i ever did on Warfarin and it doesn't cause me any problems at all, apart from the obvious worries when i get on a plane etc.
