You're right it's not not terribly ironic.
It's somewhat ironic.
Semantics aside, I just don't think it's correct to call Tevez a "very stupid player" due to his poor English. He's clearly able to communicate on the pitch to an adequate standard which I would say counts as 'comprehensible' for the job he needs to do.
I fail to see how that enlarges any 'irony of Tevez's English'.
Anyway Džeko just needs time to settle.

The poster's point is about a player's English while he lives in England. The poster most likely lives outside England (yet uses a comprehensible English). Which might only enlarge the irony of Tevez's English. Anyway.
