Dzeko to Chelsea

Hey blues whats the latest on this? Refuse to follow this thread too much stress.
Still looks possible but nowhere near a done deal. Seems Roma are holding out for a high price and Džeko for a long contract simultaneously and Chelsea have gotten hesitant.

There's a little bit of revisionism here on this thread. I'm not saying the specific posters were guilty, but Dzeko took some absolute pelters when playing for City at times with people expecting/wanting him to be something he wasn't and could never be.

IMO he played at the best of his ability, was a superb 'striker' in the pure sense of the word and was hugely effective when we played a more direct system that suited his style. One of my fave City players.

He certainly wouldn't fit into a Pep style City team, but would quite like him not to come back to England in another club's shirt if poss.

He's exactly the player Chelsea need which is worrying but be good to see him back.
He played well against them at the bridge scoring a worldie so they saw him up close - can see this happening

The difference between us and other clubs - Arsenal & Liverpool in particular - is that Dzeko will be *cheered* when he walks onto the pitch at the Etihad, not boo'd. The way those sad bastards were still boo'ing e.g. Nasri, 3 years after he left was simply pathetic.

Some City fans still boo Milner. Distin was still getting abuse when he was at Bournemouth!

Milner get's booed because of his comments after leaving, not because of leaving.

And because of the way he handled the whole situation, with his repeated "hope to sign a new contract very soon" utter bollocks that went on for months. He played us like chumps and cost the club - a club that had treated him very well indeed - literally millions. He behaved like a cvnt.

But even then, most City fans let him get away with it, because of his contribution here.

It was when he started spouting all that shit about Liverpool being the 'best team he's ever played in' & all that disrespectful crap, that's when most people turned on him.

Exactly! Millner and Distin deserve/deserved all the shit they get and got!

I'd love to see an interviewer with a set of balls challenge him on that comment. "So, James, since you joined this 7th place club from 2 times title winners Manchester City you've described it on many occasions as 'the best team you've ever played in'. How then do you explain the clubs failure to win any silverware since and indeed, to qualify for the Champions League every year?"
