But agent claims Belgian star wants to join Real Madrid

Manchester City are set to make a £25million (€30m) bid for Lille star Eden Hazard and then loan him back to the French club, but he wants to join Real Madrid, according to his agent.

The player's representative, Marc Formeaux, has revealed the free-spending English outfit are keen on the Belgian international and may look to win his signature with an offer in January.

City could have the money to tempt Hazard, but the midfielder has already set his sights on moving to one of the continent's traditional giants in Real.

"In France, people are talking about an offer of €30m from City and that he would then be loaned back to Lille for free until June," AS quote Formeaux as saying.

Signing him would be a slap in the face to Adam Johnson

If we didn't set up differently in some games it'd mean the end of Johnson, unless perhaps Mancini tries to play Johnson in the middle more like in those pre-season friendlies in the USA where he looked quite useful in a central role.

But imagine Liverpool offered us £20m for Johnson and we bought Hazard for £25m, on a purely footballing level that would be amazing business for us even if it would be a bit of a downer to send an English player packing (plus the homegrown rule).

It's hard to pass on the chance to sign a kid who looks like one of the next big stars of world football though. If he was a striker then it'd be wasteful to sign him but the thing is, he would bring something to our squad that we don't have.

I've changed my thoughts on this. At first I thought its an attacking player we don't need but it's become clear the only attacker we have that goes after a defender is Aguero (AJ doesnt do it enough, or to any fullbacks that are good), whilst our other options tend to pass around the opposition. it's very effective, but to have different options would be great to mix up the attack.

It'd probably mean the end of AJ and probably the selling of Nasri in probably 2 summers from now, but if Hazard is the better player and basically free (assuming the funds come from Tevez sale) I'm all for it.

That he's holding out for Real means nothing, Allegedly Nasri, Dzeko, Mario, Silva, and Yaya had preferred destinations, too.

think someone with raw pace completes us going forward. would honestly take the cheaper option out of hazard, lavezzi or bale. depending obviously on their availability

Exactly.
Hazard can play the passing game like Nasri & Silva while also he can goes after defenders and create chances by him self.

i can't see this story being true though. why would we shell out 30m now, when we could do with a winger for the run in if tevez leaves. th said somewhere else about a possible krasic loan, maybe if he comes in until the end of the season then it might work out

doesn't mean the end of johnson bobs been moaning for ages that Johnson is our only winger Hazard will give us the option of playing with 2 wingers just to give us more options in certain matches, when Richards is out we seem to lack width

We don't need him we don't play wingers as wingers

Thats because we do not have a winger with enough pace and skill to skin a fullback.

Our wing play is our fullbacks! Come on how long have you been watching us play? This is how Mancini wants his teams to play......

That is because they are the options he has. If we signed Ronaldo (not so far fetched as this notion would once have been). Do you think our wing play would be totally focussed on our fullbacks. No, it wouldnt, so stop being silly. 40 years btw.

Mancini has been our manager for 2 years now and during his time he has transformed our chances of success at winning trophies. Last year the main theme was not to lose and we set up accordingly 433. This season with additional creative players at his disposal we have mainly played 4231. Next season I'm sure we will have the speedy wingers to play 442 or just about any formation needed to beat anyone. The squad is still evolving and so is our play. We have something like 10 players who will not be at the club for much longer and we are likely to see a further 3/4 players come in to give us the options we are still lacking. Give Mancio another 2 transfer windows and GKs will be sorted with quality succession planning in place, a ball playing CB, a speedy winger (Sanchez was going to be this) and DMF/CMF player. We may even see further completion at RB e.g. Van Der Weil.

Over time we could see Hazard, T Silva, VDW, De Rossi/Martinez join to complete the squad but it takes time. Fans may also see some shock departures e.g. De Jong in order to accommodate the incomings.

Van Der Wiel already signed for Valencia. but we did send scouts to watch him and still didn't bid. Shame cause love Zabba but he's not a good Attacking Right back good Left Back though still can't get over how he had Walcott in his pocket for the whole game.
