If we do get him I'm unsure as to when I'd like it confirmed. We all saw how much the last minute goal utterly destroyed rag hopes. So leaving the announcement as late as possible just to build up their hopes, only to cruelly dash them at the last minute, does have it's appeal.

You bring up a great point but I seriously can't deal with him flirting around with other teams for the next 3 months and the endless speculation that 'Arry will come in with a least-minute bid.

Not really no. Yaya, for example, came to play here, not to play for the shirt, but to increase his bank balance (as can be seen from his wage demands) and to link up with his brother. Whether that was City or anyone else mattered not one jot.

Now he has done ok for the side, without destroying morale has he not? I find your "I want them to be desperate to come to City or they can fuck off" to be somewhat simplistic and child like. We are a top club going up against other top clubs for one of the most sought after pllayers in the world. He could go to any of the clubs and be successful, as well he knows. I am just glad that your input is limited to posts on a forum rather than being anywhere fucking near a negotiation table where City is involved.

My fault really for expecting you to follow a line of thought. I should have been more precise in the first instant and said "name me another player that we could possibly purchase this summer that would be as good or better than Hazard playing as a wide attacking forward who also has the ability to play in the centre behind the strikers". The answer is that there isn't one.

I posted here (earlier on this very thread, so pay attention) that I was golfing with mates near Lille last week and got friendly with a season ticket holder from that club who is also the son of one of the trainers there. He categorically stated that the deal had already been done for Hazard. He was already a city player. Even when I tried to pour cold water on the statement he got shirty that i didn't believe him and was adamant he was already a citizen.
Thats the story, so believe it or not, up to you.
