Eden Hazard

Don't worry, our captain Vinnie will have a word with him and try to convince him that joining City is a preferable choice.

Y'know, the fact is this :

If he wants to have the prestige of playing for the European Champions then he'll go to Chelsea. Bit of a daft move prestige wise though as he wasn't part of the triumph and a large part of their squad are at the tail end of their careers. Also they don't even have a manager.

If he wants to have the joy of playing for the biggest name out there, then he'll choose Utd. Again a bit of a daft move as they also have a lot of players at the tail end of their career AND they already have Young, Valencia & Nani. Also they might not have a manager for long if Fergie's nosebleeds continue <please, please, please>.

The sensible choice is to come to us as we have a relatively young squad, are Champions, look like we could win a few more, and also are looking to make an impression in Europe. The only thing being, that he isn't guaranteed a starting slot (he'll have to work for it), and we're not so desperate to sign him that we will acquiesce to all of his agents demands.

If he doesn't come then - in my eyes - he hasn't thought about it properly and therefore lacks to intelligence or control of his agent to be an asset (are you listening Mr. Joorabchian ?).

Also, I agree about him being somewhat self-indulgent (with regards to the various ad's and cock-teasing), but this IS a guy who is quite a big deal in his home country and Ligue 1. He'll have to get used to not being the default star attraction wherever he goes next........ that is gonna have to be earned.

This 'Sky sources' stuff today, concerning Hazard - suggesting he prefers United. Will try and give some insight into this in next tweets

From what I know, it's not mercato365, anyone on Twitter or random guess work. Dharmesh Sheth (Man United fan) spoke to Michel Seydoux yday

Darren Can ‏@Darren_Can
Michel Seydoux appeared on camera as he agreed to give people an update on what was going on. Then, with camera off...

Darren Can ‏@Darren_Can
..he may have said off the record that United has the edge. That's what constitutes 'sky sources'.
He's a journo and big open Utd fan, doesn't mean it's bollocks but the wish could be father to the thought.

Hazard only has to see how his fellow Belgian Lukaku has been treated at Chelsea to gauge false promises.

Goes for Torres, too.

You're talking bollocks.

Lukaku is 19, far from finished article and he knew he'll have to bide his time to become a regular at Chelsea, having the likes of Drogba in front of him. He loves the club and is happy there.

Torres' biggest problem is his own poor performances over the last two seasons, it has nothing to do with Chelsea.

If Hazard's priority is guaranteed starting spot and playing time, he'll join Chelsea. If it's money he'll go to City. I'm not sure why United are even in the mix, they're overstocked in the wingers' department.
What a stupid argument that is. You accept we have a stronger squad re your "playing time" argument but fail include he may come to us for a better chance of success and simply use the money argument. You mouth breather.

You won't have a stronger squad forever, you know. City won the title, fair enough, but other clubs will regroup and strengthen, it happens all the time.

watched it mate............... and it didnt move!!

Also, Hazard's decision is NOT money based, there is an element of course but it isnt solely down to his pay packet. He's got another 15 years plus playing time at the top level

I haven't posted to be hounded off...i post what i know, simple as. No clues, nothing just taken from the press etc

To the PM's, if anything else comes to fruition i shall share, cheers

Oh Jesus, not another one.

Fbloke (Andy M) ‏@TheRealFbloke
City have 2 bids in, have had for a while. One for RVP and one for Hazard. Both are final offers after negotiations were completed.

Fbloke (Andy M) ‏@TheRealFbloke
The club will not offer any more than they have already and so if others want to gazump its not changing any valuations or bids from #mcfc.

Fbloke (Andy M) ‏@TheRealFbloke
That said it may mean that City sharpen their pencils in readiness for secondary targets.

You have come onto the forum claiming to "...know the guy way better than all of you..." Interesting. Care to back this up with some credentials, mon brave? Or is it simply you are a Lille supporter and have watched him this season?

Other posters have questioned the strength of Ligue 1 as Lille finished bottom of their Champions League Group, Lyon were knter stages (knocked out by Bayern in QFs). In the Europa League, Sochaux were out in the qualifiers and Rennes finished bottom of their group and PSG finished 2nd bottom of their group.

Stadiums are seemingly rarely full. Average attanedances show that overall stadia are about 66% - 75% full each game which suggests the French public have voted with their feet. For the record Lille holds circa 18,000 and have been getting 17,000 which is great, however Montpellier holds 33,000 and have been getting 17,500 despite winning it this season.

Based on that, and as we don't get a huge amount of Ligue 1 coverage in the UK, you can understand some of the assumptiona. Add into the mix that French clubs, even the top ones, seem to sell their top talent to Italy, Germany, Spain and England, you again can see why posters would react that way.

Appreciably, it may appear arrogant to hold those views without more knowledge, but as I say, understandabe nonetheless, n'est pas?

The reason I said I know Eden Hazard better than all of you is because i follow the lad since he's 16 y.o and his first appearance with the pro. Since then i must not have missed more than 10 of his games.
I already spoke to him twice, once for several minutes, which enabled me, in addition to his other interviews and attitude on the field, to have a pretty accurate estimate of his personnality.

As for the french league, there is absolutely no debate that it is weaker than PL, Bundesliga, Serie A and la Liga. But it's not as weak as the scottish league, as someone said here before.
Lille indeed didn't pass their CL group (neither did you), but rightfully deserved to be 2nd behind Inter Milan. Actually they should have been, but the players shat on themselves for the last game against trabzonspor (and if the referee hadn't been blind). Before the last game of the group, Lille was the only french team in a favorable position to get to the upper level. Contrary to Lille, the success of Marseille and Lyon depended on the results of the other matches of the group.

But even if it the league is weaker, the talent of Hazard remains the same and does not depend on the quality of the league. Many french league promising players have confirmed their great talent once they joined a more reputable league ...
Besides the weakness of the french league is essentially due to his lack of offensive quality players, which is logical because they are the most expensive football commodities, and the main difference between french league and the others is the money.
But defensively speaking, i am pretty sure the average level is as good as in premier league (Joe Cole even said better, tactically speaking).

I am 150% sure (as everyone who knows the lad for years would be) that Hazard will be a top class player in any league he'll play.

^^^^^ 'Nothing just taken from the press' so NO not from the media/press

you reckon?

Amazing what a bidding war does.

Especially now Chelsea won the CL.

Always handy to have an extra 'bonus package' available.

Sky sources say he want's United.

deliberate leak?

in other words.. 'up the anti city and chelsea'
