yes he is facing an incredible amount of shots where striker has a great position, usually defender behind him, no one to block the shot, many times striker even has time to make sure he places it well.

Thing is if striker gets the shot on target of these, Ederson not saving about 90% of these.

He must have the worst shot on target/goals conceded ratio, we really dont concede a lot of shots that are on target but when we do it is crazy how often its a goal conceded and Ederson not even close to save them.

He must be livid to start match and know for a fact opponents will have 3 shots total but that could be 2-3 goals given the quality of their chances.

We were luck to only concede 1 vs Wolves last week. We did our usual defensive fuckups and could have been 3-1 down around 70th minute after 1-0 up, that was more the exception rather than the rule.
again that game was where Wolves did not threaten at all in first 45 minutes like Leicester did not create anything for first 35 minutes. but then they started to come close to our box and we made sure they get the chances.

Run at us, try to score against us, and our midfield wont care while defenders will even work with you to do it. Ederson must be livid at that.

Keepers aren’t supposed to save penalties, it’s heavily weighted towards the attacker for a reason. We don’t suffer sustained pressure in games so he rarely has anything to do and when he does have something to do we’re usually badly exposed and the attacker is under no pressure at all and can pick his spot. That’s why he doesn’t make many saves. Ederson is a top class goalkeeper and a world class Pep goalkeeper, there’s zero problem with him.

Keepers save around 25% of penalties on average, statistically. But Ederson saves 15%. He is a poor penalty stopper. One of the worst in the league.

Pretty much every shot goes in. Bravo was vilified for the same thing, but Ederson inexplicably gets away with it. Great with his feet though.

Maybe we should play him as a 6 and i'm only half joking.

It's more like 20-22% and Ederson saves 17%.

If he saved his next one he'd be bang on the average.

We are not utilising his strengths. He should be doing better but we can say that about everyone. The whole club feels meh at the min.

It's MENTAL to me that people don't think hes a good GK. You only need to watch his performances for Benfica to see that he's an amazing shot stopper as well.

I doubt any keeper in the league faces the quality of chances he does. Look at how hard we had to work yesterday to create chances against a packed defence and compare it to what Ederson sees in front of him week in week out. There can barely be a game that goes by where he isn't facing a one-on-one from a simple long ball over the top.
