Did he fuck, all that happened was that some knicker wetters who don’t understand what makes a good footballer didn’t recognise his brilliance - hence the pathetic nickname used by some of Plodri. He could ALWAYS pass, tackle, block runs, progress the ball etc.

Same happened with Fernandinho, remember having a right dust up with someone sat near me who was slagging him off and said he would be gone within a few months :)

There was a big difference between Fernandinho and Rodri’s first season. Fernandinho was top from the very first game. Didn’t take any time to settle. He was older though and physically more ready for the prem.

It took Rodri until year 3 before he was a nailed on first choice consistently.

Ferna was great in his first season but he did struggle in his first season with Pep, to the point Pep didn't really trust him in the middle and played him as a full-back instead. Second season he was the best holding midfielder on the planet
