In demand Bundesliga man wanted at Stamford Bridge and Eastlands.

Chelsea and Manchester City target Edin Dzeko says he is open to a move to England despite AC Milan being his preferred option.

Ever since this season started and Edin Dzeko was still at Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg, all the talk has been about the Bosnian making his way to Italy to join AC Milan in the summer but it appears that the goal machine may now be liking the idea of a move to the Premier League which has left bankrolled sides Manchester City and Chelsea drooling in anticipation.

Wolfsburg were always going to find it hard to live up to last seasons incredible title winning success and this term has been something of a damp squib with the side flailing in mid table but that hasn’t stopped Edin Dzeko from impressing. The 24 year old has still managed to knock in 23 goals in all competitions this term and is second top scorer in Germany this season. It seems highly likely he will look for a move away from the club who he may well have outgrown and whilst the Bundesliga side will not want to see him leave they may realise that to attempt to prevent such a move would only be preventing the inevitable.

The £22m rated striker has the physique and stamina to be a success in the Premier League and its no surprise that Carlo Ancelotti and Roberto Mancini are looking to snap up his services, but who will be more likely to tempt the former Teplice frontman to join them?

Well Chelsea of course have Champions League football to offer Edin and having tasted the tournament for the first time this season, albeit briefly, he will be keen to return to the top table. Man City could of course probably offer him an even bigger paycheck but surely Eastlands already have a host of top notch strikers anyway?

Stamford Bridge’s two main forwards, Nicolas Anelka and Didier Drogba, are both the wrong side of 30 so I can see the west London side making a concerted effort to snap up Dzeko this summer.

The biggest urban legend in football. The jokers who comment at Goal.com etc. still talk about us playing "eleven strikers" next season.

Dzeko, yes please. Would be better than Adebayor.

Don't really rate him as much as most people.

Don't think he would be the best in this league in all honesty.

Surely most strikers would jump at the chance to partner Tevez upfront, why not aim higher and if we fail to attract higher, there are players like Dzeko to fall back on.

Not only is it poor journalism to tell us how much he is rated twice in such a short article, they can't even be consistent with it. Is this from Tribal Football? :P

They just make that shit up. It enrages me.

GRRR!

I remember when i first spoke of Dzeko way back in November 2008 on the transfer forum. He was just starting to find his feet with Wolfsburg and he reminded me alot of Ruud Van Nistelrooy. Since then he has added so much more to his game its untrue.

Edin is great in the air, more than comfortable with the ball at his feet and likes to run at defenders. The guy oozes the confidence that every striker needs.

£25m is alot of cash, but he would be worth every penny. Shame i ain't a scout or we could have had him a long time ago for a lot less money.
