What's a myth?

Could you be any more vague with your posts?

The myth is that he just scores goals, and doesn't contribute in any other way. In fact he contributes more than most people realize. So what is the weakness Mancini adressed multiple times at the beginning of the season?

In fact, it says it all when you have to say "when MOST people"

The majority can see his overall game isn't what it should be. His ability to score goals has never been questioned.

And again with the vague comments, just say what you want to say already

At the beginning of the season we had a particular problem with the lack of clean sheets. We were conceding goals almost every game. 90% of those goals came from set pieces. On multiple occasions Mancini has defended his choice of starting Dzeko on account of this issue.

Dzeko always falls back to defend set pieces.

Sorry I didn't see the second half of your earlier post. I understand your point about price but doesn't some of that come down to the club buying the best as an alternative but never really providing the tools for him to be at his best as we had another style in mind. I think most people agree our style isn't the best for him so it is a case of him trying to fit in with how we do it and please understand I am not saying we should change just for Dzeko. I don't think we are that far apart opinion wise, I'm just happy to see the ball in the back of the net you expect a bit more, I suppose I am just easier to please. I just feel that yes, he has faults but I think he has earnt a bit more respect than he sometimes gets on this thread.

That's true, but you could also argue that a player of that calibre should be able to adapt to a different style of play.

So his height for defending set pieces is a plus.

But how does that make his inability to consistently use said height to win knock ons up the pitch a myth?

Or being unable to hold defenders off and hold the ball up?

He doesn't do those things as well and as often as he should.

I only brought up those 3 aspects and you said it was a "myth" then you bring up a separate aspect.
