Has anyone heard the new comeback single 'Papillon'?

Absolutely fantastic, got a 80's feel to it aswell new order etc..

They've slightly changed direction but it' sounds immense, IMO they are the most underated band in the UK and have been for many years now, they've done 2 solid really good albums and they hardly get any recognition!

I've seen them twice live and they blew me away both times and both come close to my top 5 gigs ever, tom is also an excellent frontman.

Any editors fans on here?, hardly see anyone mention them!

Yes I agree, both albums are very good with some outstanding tracks.
However I saw them live last year and thought they played really well but were only on for an hour and a quarter and felt a bit short changed.

yeh they only did an hour and 20 minutes at the apollo both times, still did 16 songs though which isn't to bad.

This.

Editors go 80s. Woo, leading the way there. NOT! Every other fucker is employing synths into their music at the moment. I've got no problem with synths, in fact I like it, but everyone is just copying what's successful at the moment. There are lots of good synth bands around at the moment, Midnight Juggernauts and Cut Copy off the top of my head. I agree that bands should evolve from album to album, but I like to see musicians being a bit more innovative rather than just copying what's popular/good at the moment. That's too easy

Yeh your right about that, new albums/bands will only get picked up by comparable small minorities who like new sounds. The choice these bands usually have to make after their first album is whether to head out into new territory and develop different styles of music or go mainstream, copy what everyones doing and make some money out of it, some work and sound better and some bands just fade out.

I can think of a few that have started as individuals/bands usually compared to 'several styles' of music then they have faded out of interest cos they sound too similiar to others
