Edward Snowden - granted Russian citizenship (p 4)

I'm surprised that this hasn't been posted earlier, so I thought I'd post it before I forgot.

Snowden Vs NSA

So, the question is, does he leave Russia to return home...?
I'd imagine he's safer taking his chances with novichok in his coffee over there than risking an 'accident' back in the US tbh.

No, he'll be arrested because distributing or sharing classified information is just as illegal.

The problem here seems to be that the NSA can base their illegal activities within the protection of "national security".

You would have to ask why Snowden would be going to jail for exposing the lie used to spy on the country's citizens.

The idea that Snowden can't tell the truth means that Govts can openly lie against its people and you can do nowt about it.

It's not that we don't know they do and we just crack on with life, it's just they can just blatantly lie to your face and expect you to ignore it, that's the issue.

The very point of national security is that it remains secure no matter how much you disagree with it.

It would be like telling everyone where CIA rendition sites were back 10 years ago. Yeah they weren't legal but what happens if thanks to that disclosure terrorists turn up to a site and kill everyone?

When things like this happen people don't realise the human cost which is the individuals who are put directly in danger. It was the same with Assange who illegally obtained and released millions of compromising documents through Wikileaks.

Do you also believe that Snowden was granted asylum in Russia and not torn a new one by the KGB? God only knows what else he has revealed. There is no way he'll ever see the light of day again if he came back to the US.

Twisted and evil logic.
