EFL Cup 19/20 Dec

Wenger really is a lunatic isn't he. They're about 20 points off the league and he's still tossing off the most likely competition for them to win.
Bizarre man.

Not really. He'll be more interested in winning the top 4 trophy.

To be fair to Wenger, he has always used this competition to play his fringe and younger players which for the top 6 clubs is what it should be used for because let's face it, it's not a great competition nowadays is it.

They have Liverpool at the weekend too.

Is the semi draw tonight for this or are they gonna fanny about again?

I'm confused how they are going to make this work. For the quarter finals there were 7 premier league teams and 1 championship team, and United of course drew the championship team. (that's the draw which took place in private BTW). So if they get through tonight, there won't be any lower league teams for them to play. I don't think Carabao have thought this through.

I'm sure whoever they do draw will have some conveniently timed bans for their key players

Looking at how "seriously" the 8 teams left have taken it, it is a really unwanted competition and might as well be combined with the JPT. Make it U23s for the PL and Championship sides and basically turn it into the B league the big clubs want it to be.

I'd like to win it, but then again I liked the Europa League when we were in it, but for clubs it's clearly not feasible.
