Managers who are new to the PL usually seem to like the comp. It gives them an early and relatively easy chance to break their duck. Can't see Pep being that bothered about it though. I certainly don't see him fielding teams as strong as the ones that MP put out. He would probably like to stay in it as a means of experimenting with new formations, giving game time to fringe players and blooding kids. And if he can progress through the comp in the way that Wenger used to do at Arsenal then all well and good. But if we end up contesting the PL and CL later stages this season, the fixture that would need to be re-arranged from EFL cup final day would be a real pain in the arse.

That's 5 years in which we've reached 4 cup finals and a semi final, right?Not really considering we got notts county in 2011
Going to the league game staying over Friday Saturday so no chance we can do the midweek one as wellWe'll be in Swansea twice that week so as We've got them in the league on Sat 24th

The size of our current squad says we will be taking this very seriously but we will field 2 very diffent teams imho.
Caveat being that we don't sell half the current squad between now and end of August!
