Thought they'd really batter us at Anfield when we were in far worse shape but we did alright in that game really. By the point of that game we should be able to field: Ederson; Akanji Dias Ake Gvardiol; Gonzalez Kovacic Foden; Savinho Haaland Doku. There's enough energy in that team to make it a decent game.

It’s not a good next 4 games for us after Saturday but it’s time we stood up and showed some of these fuckers who we are! I fear the worst but hope for the best!

I just find it a statement that is used far to offen with certain teams. I admit I don't follow south American football, I don't follow other European leagues. Si I guess dippers could be the best team in the world, I won't know. Definitely the best in England that's for sure.

I was hugely impressed by Newcastle's intensity vs Arsenal and the individual performances of Isak and Gordon. In the Liverpool v Spurs game, Spurs were missing an entire side. Their injury problems are worse than ours, much worse and it's the first time I have ever seen Postecoglou play without his high defensive line. Obviously he couldn't do that in a semi-final 2nd leg when you are 1-0 up and you don't have your defenders. He had no choice. However, I was so impressed with Kulusevski. He's almost always the best player on the pitch and he was again, and to play like that in a struggling side speaks volumes. Son looks like he's in decline. It's sad to see. He has been a joy to watch. I feel sorry for Postecoglou. If that side is fit, they are a good side and very good to watch.

It depends who is available. If we have to play Nunes and KDB we will lose.

If Dias and Stones are fit, and we play Kovacic, Foden and Bernardo in midfield with Marmoush, Savinho and Haaland we could beat Liverpool. Probably they'd outpower us in midfield but presumably that's why we bought Gonzalez. It might be too soon for him but Rodri will recover and in time the new players will settle.

Watching Liverpool under Slot I've noticed something other pressing sides have not done, not pressing the opponents defenders but once they pass the ball into the midfield Liverpool were like a rash over the spurs player with the ball 1/2 players on them instantly giving them not option but to pass back and then when they pass it back into midfield Liverpool players are on them before the ball reaches them! They suffocate teams in midfield.
