EFL Leagues 1 & 2 thread 2023/24

interesting score in Scottish League one. Bottom of the table with 9 points Edinburgh city were 66-1 before the game playing top of the league Falkirk who haven’t lost all season.

Edinburgh 2-0 up.

Betting investigators will be all over this.

A quiet afternoon in Grimsby

Just been confirmed that the game has been postponed. Reading between the lines, that doesn't sound good for that poor fan. Hopefully, I'm adding 2+2, and getting 5.
Reportedly a cardiac arrest with the individual taken to hospital. I have every sympathy at is is absolutely right that the game be delayed to allow the best treatment possible to be given I do think that the game should then have been restarted.

What’s with tennis balls protest? Cricket balls would be better…

They are angry - like we were under Swales. Their owner is a shyster who doesn't care about them.

Football teams - well most sporting venues - are the last bastion of community. In the 50's if you lived on the site thats now the Etihad you would have worked in Johnsons Wire Works or at Mather - drank in the same pubs and used the same chippy's. All thats gone now - people commute miles to cities or Industrial estates to work or work from home. Going to a game for many is where they feel they are at their second home. Look at what happened when Bury went - people are left bereft. I have no links to Reading - never even knowingly been there - but I wish them luck because in this day and age they are going to need it.

My partner was at the game. From what she told me, when the poor chap who had the heart attack was being moved to the Ambulance a visiting fan who was in the disabled section, arose from his wheelchair and went to the front to take a pic or two with his phone and was booed widly. She never mentioned fighting breaking out.

My view as to why it was abandoned is that the Ambulance was used to take the ill person to hospital and so it left a gap in coverage for the players and another one could not be arranged in time. It's like F1, if the emergency helicopter can't fly the driving stops.

No news on the chap, but fingers crossed for him.

After reading up on Reading the owner seems to be running the club into the ground and admin or club to go out of existence looks possible! Parry who brought in all those rules for leagues for has made it worse! There seems more clubs in trouble going into admin than ever! I always think points deduction for team is counter predicted and like reading if you have a shite owner who don't give two shits about the club will end up in this position!

Maybe they should look at owners more as in if the owner don't pay the players or alway late to pay and running of the club is questionable over a long time they should be rules in to kick them out of clubs!

Looking on the Volton forum yesterday sounded like the fan taken out was still receiving CPR when ambulance arrived, they said it was right to abandon.

Reading will be punished for yesterday which ultimately could lead to another relegation, but at least the fans are trying to force the owner to sell. As history shows he has no interest in the club so why still retain it.
