EFL Leagues 1 & 2 thread 2023/24

I go adn watch them sometimes as it's only a couple of miles away. They've been doing pretty well this season funnily enough. On the edge of the playoff places and unbeaten in a few matches (before last night). Mansfield though are challenging for the title and obviously a stronger team but the result was still a bit of a shock.
It was suggested on Look North this Monday that Simon Weaver could be in for Manager of the Month. Reckon that's out of the window now. Its usually jinxed once it's been awarded, not when only being suggested !

Heard about this post match interview with Sutton's manager Steve Morrison on a podcast, and tracked it down.....

Now, I get it. Reporters can be really annoying, and I'm sure a lot of managers would rather not talk to them after a defeat (Pep has had the odd narky interview or three), but I can't see what was wrong with the questions Morrison was being asked. And the general consensus seems to be that he was a bit of a tw@.

Good set of results for Pompey last night despite not playing with Derby & Bolton both getting beat.

2nd spot is wide open and Barnsley will fancy their chances on autos

Leyton Orient could be a surprise bet to sneak the playoffs too.

Stockport looking good for promotion from League 2. Giving the abomination that is MK Dons a chasing this evening; 4-0 after 54 minutes. And it's not like top vs bottom; Dons would have leapfrogged County with a win. County look a tidy outfit, and may well make up for their penalty shootout heartbreak at Wembley last season.

8 games left for County. Looking like they will do it this season.

Madden cut above at League Two level.

Could be a strong league next season if Mansfield/Stockport/Wrexham come up, and something like Rotherham, Us & Huddersield come down, add into the fact that 2 of Derby/Bolton/Posh/Barnsley could be statying down.

Fully expect Charlton to be a lot better next season too under Nathan Jones.

Hopefully we stay up otherwise don't think we bounce back straight away, especially as the manager will leave (probably so if we do stay up)

Watching the Wrexham vs Mansfield game at the moment. Wrexham 2 up, but they got lucky with the second goal, a penalty. It was a foul, but it was outside the box. No VAR in League 2,of course.
