rarely does he get any credit on here but i was at the game today and he was everywhere.......constantly trying to make things happen.....defending in his own area (at one point he was ahead of dunne in cutting out a cross), always wanting the ball, holding it up on the half way line, buying free kicks (he must have learnt that off hamman)......not to mention nut megging 2 arsenal players on the run.

well done elano...keep the boo boys away!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely agree with this and recently hes been working really hard but sometimes this season his (undoubted) quality has gone missing. At the end of the day he's a creative player rather than a workhorse and I dont think we've seen the same creativity (when he's had the chance) as last season.

His attitude seems to have improved but he's just not suited to the English game, like most Brazilians it seems. A top Brazilian has never come to this country in their prime and there is a reason for this.....

He seemed to try hard today and play ok but he didn't actually do anything of significance going forward ( as Robinho and Bellamy didnt either)

the ref was generous to him today. it's extremely annoying when he persists in attempting to buy free kicks when the ref is clearly not interested. but yeah, he was ok.

why???????

this is one of hammans best celebrated qualities and has been for years...he is a master at it and elano retained poseession on a number of occasions by making the player foul him.....

i agree its not his game but it shows he is adapting and playing the way MH wants him to.

the guy deserves praise (but of course city fans cannt do this as it would admit being wrong!)

did ANYONE ELSE do anything of significance going forward......???????

no they didnt....if you watched him he was constanlty looking to pick the ball up off the back four and looking to pass to break arsenal down....he didnt manage it but he was trying.

hamann knows which refs will by which fouls and when to do it. he really is the master of it. elano too often ends up on the floor waving his arms about when the opposition have got the ball and moved it on. he just doesnt have hamann's craftiness and would be well advised to tone it down a bit.

he's doing ok, his attitude does seem better, but he's really not pulling up any trees. moderate praise is due.

der I think I did say he tried hard and for the record SWP did do something significant going forward he set up Micah and Gelson for very good chances in the first half. And that in what overall for SWP was not a good performance.

he is a quality pllayer who can either put a shift in (like today) or be a play maker! the only problem with him is he cant spark something on his own imo! he can spark something when other players are playing well also!
