Elano

The way some of you go on about Elano it's like he has shagged your wife and pissed all over your kids.

The guy is a top top player, always has been always will be and the only reason some people think he has been shit is because you have been expecting him to perform like he did v Newcastle and M'Boro last year when no one knew him and when he was playing much further up.

If you had an ounce of footballing knowledge about the game you will see what he brings to the game and to the players around him and not highlight his 3 bad passes out of his 60 he made.

Makes me laugh The Oracle has joined in slagging him off. That lad would still vote for Richard Dunne to be the pilot to relocate us all to the moon even if the DunneyMoster had fucked up the plane.

Fuck me, another post from FDM i agree with, I must be high!

elano was excellent today

in the first half especially he just sat in front of the back four picking passes.....a lot of them simple passes (so much for always going for the hollywood pass that some people accuse of him of trying to play all the time).

his pass to help set up the third goal to swp was excellent.

he put himself about and tracked back.

tackling might not be his strongest assett but he at least tries to tackle.

agree ireland was MOTM but elano was very good also

as for the MUEN ratings...how they gave Jo a 7 is beyond me....he was pretty poor but he needs time to develop and we wont lose anything by having patience with him for at least another season or two

I wouldn't even buy a used car off the DunneyMonster!

Robinho 90% (40 passes)
Ireland 86% (37)
Elano 82% (68)
SWP 80% (40)
Kompany 73% (60)

Can we end this silliness now.

Seems like we're talking at cross-purposes.
I didn't notice Elano much in the first half as I only caught about half of it: thats great if he was playing deep and playing some nice simple passes.

But theres no doubt but that in the second half, which is what I've been banging on about too many of his passes went astray.

Lets hope we get two 'first half' performances from him at Blackburn then!

Whilst I agree Elano had a good game, those stats don't show the whole story.

Most of Elano's were just simple sideways passes whilst Superman's were all forward thinking and he was the player that ran the show IMO

I'm still wary of playing Ireland & Elano in the same side together away from home.

and the standard deviation?

He can't win can he, half the Elano detractors accuse him of only going for Hollywood passes, the other half accuse him of being a crab. They're all wrong.

Assist attempts - Ireland 6, Elano 5, SWP 4, Robinho 3, Kompany 0.
