Electrical help needed!!(what type of risistor)

It’s a 10 ohm resistor

5 band resistor so

Brown is 1
Black is 0
Black is 0

So that’s 100

Gold is divide by 10, So 10 ohms

Last band is tolerance which black means any resistor will do.

Looks from the size of it to be 1/4 watt wire wound. Question is why has it acted like a fuse !

Hi guys
My controller on my coffee machine has stopped working,I opened the PID case and noticed it’s blown one of the risistors, anyone know what type of risistor this is,so I can buy a replacement.
Cheers
Chances are something else caused too much current to flow through the resistor so there's a fair chance a replacement would burn out as well.

Thanks a lot,got a mate whos an electrician coming round tomorrow,so hopefully he’ll find what the problem is.

Just completely wrap it in silver paper and it'll start working again. This also works with fuses in plugs.
