ELO

I remember being quite jacked up about "Discovery" being released -- radio hype was frantic over here and I already liked them prior to this record. Always enjoyed how kitschy their production was, and the meaninglessness of their songs was a nice diversion. Still enjoy them -- nice to remember once being a carefree young teenager "discovering" pop music . . . until I heard AC/DC's "Highway to Hell" a few months later, which wiped ELO off the map, and my dalliance with AM radio disappeared.

A year or so later I discovered punk and the rest is history.
