elvis costello used to wear glasses with no glass in them.

B- Movie are playing The Corporation at Sheffield in June, priced at £20 which I thought was reasonable. Early 80s electronic band from Mansfield, their track 'Nowhere Girl' prob the most well known , but Remembrance Day ,a brilliant anti war single is a good example of a talented band who never quite made it.

I last saw then upstairs at The Black Boy pub in Nottingham about 20 years ago,'Rememberance Day' was played early, and the smallish crowd of dedicated followers went ballistic and I ended up face down on the floor,it was more like a punk gig than early 80s electronic...

I remember Andy Beumont ,the man responsible for the legendary synth riff on 'Lucifers friend' by Sheffield band Vision, was in attendance that night ,hopefully he will be in June and won't remember me making a fool of myself .."all those many years ago" ..

Some posters may remember The Some Bizzare album from 1980, a compilation of up snd coming electronic bands put together by Stevo, Inc Soft Cell,Depeche Mode, and B Movie amongst others.

It’s because it’s how musicians make money these days. Streaming pays peanuts.
I've heard (in America at least, but the UK usually follows) that there are basically one or two companies that have a monopoly on the gig ticket industry, and that's the main reason they're such a rip off. They also coincidentally own all of the resale websites too and control access to a lot of the biggest and best venues. Didn't Pearl Jam famously do a tour where they played in all sorts of weird places so they wouldn't have to work with Ticketmaster?

Just noticed that Elvis was playing Buxton Opera House in September and had a look for tickets as he would be good in a smaller venue. Unfortunately, a seat in the stalls was £109 through their box office.
I think he's a superb artist but I'd only pay that if he was playing in my lounge and I could invite friends.
Think I'll settle for The Men They Couldn't Hang at Gorilla in May. Less than £25.

When did it become a thing that to see well-known artists costs that much or am I just getting old?
Yep. I saw Cream for 5/—, but it was a long time ago.
