Emergency keeper loan / Hart / Brum [All merged]

Re: SSN: City make formal request for emergency keeper loan

Very important line on the official website...

"The Blues now have a goalkeeping dilemma for the last week of the season with number two Stuart Taylor still not fit after a knee operation and fourth choice David Gonzalez suffering from a groin injury.

It leaves Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen as first in line and Academy player Loris Karius."

Having only one "senior" GK should make us strong candidates for an emergency.

A transfer? This late in the season? I bet Swanson's creaming his pants, dusting off that stupid touch screen laptop he has, charging that mobile that no one really ever rings him on, he'll be on the travel websites checking out flights to possible destinations so he can stand in front of the wrong building speculating about talks between the clubs....

It'd be good if we can get an emergency keeper in, just a shame Birmingham are so small minded that they wouldn't just send Joe back now. Hopefully they'll get relegated without him in net next season.

That's a very well worded piece from the club.

Good news, surely Pompey are in no position to deny us James for a couple of weeks and they can have him back in time for FA Cup final.

Yes. We carry four senior goalkeepers (and couldn't reasonably be expected to have more); three are now injured. The case is pretty compelling.

-- Mon Apr 26, 2010 12:11 pm --

Even if we go with Gunnar (and I personally don't want to risk it if we can get someone more experienced), then we'd have to go with an Academy kid on the bench unless we loan someone in. So we need a loan in any event.
