Encountering City players / staff in everyday life

Tommy Booth (just before the game against the Hillsborough anniversary dippers game) in M&S at Freeport he looked as pissed off as me having to wait around. Had a good chat with him about all sorts, top bloke.
Paul Lake at a few supporters do's and once at a GMR Christmas Blue Tuesday special (& Hacker the dog too!) in 2012 and he is a lovely, genuine guy.

Also met Jeff Whitley & Nicky Summerbee through work.

Nearly walked into Mario Balotelli and his stunning ex-girlfriend at the Trafford centre. He just smiled and I was too nervous to do anything but smile and apologise.

Met Robbie Fowler on business a couple of months ago in Liverpool. Really sound guy.

Used to see Mancini down deansgate before every home champions league game. I worked around the corner from the Hilton where the whole team spent the day. Also bumped into Dzeko, Kolarov and Savic quite often.

Not me, but my dad has a place in the same area of Portugal as Buzzer, and has had chats to him on the beach there. Gave his transfer updates and usual of offering tickets anytime, etc. What a top guy!

Not happened yet, and not city-related, but hoping to meet Neymar this summer with work. If it happens I'll be sure to ask him the question.

Had a piss next to Niall Quinn at a Saw Doctors concert at the Academy a few years ago. Also sat next to Brian Marwood and Jon Stemp at an OSC dinner a few years go. They are really nice guys. It was the one where Garry Cook inducted Uwe into the scum Hall of Fame. They were a tad embarrassed!

Met a few when I worked at Manchester Airport 20+ years ago. The whole City team were flying to Spain on a pre-season friendly. I had a brief chat with Howard Kendall about the friendly we had played the night before. He confirmed we had won and that "Whitey" had scored. I then saw "Whitey" stuffing his face with a burger which may explain why he has "filled out" since his playing days. Got Colin Hendry's and Clive Allen's autographs.

Saw Mark Ward "now ex con!" when he was rumoured to be leaving us to join Everton. I asked if he was leaving and he said "I feckin hope so"! Served Kenny Dalglish who was Liverpool manager at the time. I said "good luck for next season Kenny, but I hope you get beat at Maine Road". He said "aye, we never get beat at Maine Road"! (very true back in the day)

Met numerous at Junior Blues in the 1980s. The stand out for me was Paul Stewart. I was teamed up with him for a quiz and let's just say he ain't the brightest. One of the questions was "in the 10-1 v Huddersfield, in what order were the goal scorers of the goals?" He didn't have a clue even though he scored 3 of them!

Bish at the Hilton Hotel Wembley after the 1999 Play off final.

Since then I have had a chat with Kevin Keegan when our reserves were playing a friendly at Hyde and with Brian Horton at the Guvnors in Bramhall. He is a quality guy and really professional - refused to criticise Alan Ball for the job he did at City and not the least bit bitter. He was genuinely honoured to have managed us.

Kiddo walking through the Arndale centre in 2014.

Uwe walking through the Trafford Centre in 2014.

Most recently 2014 Premier League parade. Sergio gave me a wink as he went past on the open top bus!

Bumped into Stan Horne in Bury a couple of years back.

Funny, My Mother has quite a number of Sisters, as does my Father, so amongst my many Aunties who were quite a catch back in the 80's and 90's when younger.... They came across a lot more Football players than myself.
One Aunt dated Andy Dibble apparently hehe...

an Escort girl in Manchester has many a tale. They have no interest in Footy but they can spot a player from a mile off.

I've met a number of ex players but they've been at organised events such as supporters club meetings.

Joleon Lescott, David Silva, Patrick Vieira (at Santa stroll)
Colin Bell, Tony Book, Paul Power, Andy Morrison (he is a true grumpy twat in real life)
Joe Corrigan...

I knew a girl who knew the escort who shagged Rooney, in fact I was sworn to secrecy at the time when it happened, you can believe how pissed off I was later down the line when she decided to sell the story herself!

I was in the Botanist in Alderly Edge fairly recently. I was sat at the bar taking a sip of my pint when someone bumped into me from behind knocking my glass and spilling my beer. I turned around to see who it was and it was none other than Pablo zabaleta, who apologised profusely.

On the subject of zabba, My friend randomly saw him coming out of the m&s in didsbury a couple of years ago. He went over, hugged him and let out what can only be described as an extremely loud tribal roar. Zabba roared back. Legend.
