England v Brazil Etihad Stadium 25 Oct 17.30

And Kendall got on ahead of her. Really bizarre. LBB is eligible for Denmark - perhaps she should play for them if England aren’t interested.

Kendall has been excellent this season and won POTM on her England debut, so for now, might have just edged ahead. Pretty sure LBB will get a chance eventually.

England are definitely interested in LBB. She's been getting called up into England squads since even when Taylor was in charge and giving her zero minutes. Sarina tends to promote certain players through the England age groups if theyve inpressed at junior international level despite club minutes.

Was surprised Park didnt start on the right ahead of Mead last night tho (but then again Mead has played well lately).

Kelly being brought on was surprising given shes supposed to have been managing an injury. I suspect that was more because we wanted to give Hemp a break and didnt really have any other wingers on the bench.

Think the postions in this England side that are mainly up for grabs are the 10, right wing and left back. Right back is obviously there for the taking due to Bronze's age but with nobody emerging there she seems pretty safe in that position for another couple of years.

Hampton, Williamson, Hemp, Russo, Walsh and Stanway are nailed on starters for the foreseeble.

I have a strong suspicion Stanway will head back to the WSL next season so it will be interesting to see how she fares as i think she's done well for England in recent games but isnt quite world class.

Maybe but Kendall has made 7 -yes seven- top flight appearances.

Sure, but like i say, i dont think thats the only thing this England set up focuses on. If shes played well through the age groups and put in a POTM performance at senior level then fair play to her. Im rooting for LBB but also her progress was probs held up by City as much as anyone else. Lets not forget, we signed her 6 months earlier than planned citing an injury crisis and then barely used her for over a year. Im pretty confident her class will get her her chance in time.

Ultimately, Villa arent a glamour club so i dont think Kendall is getting her shot on account of who she plays for. Shes just done really well. Hoping we see a bit of LBB on Tuesday.

The senior door is not closed for Ruby Mace either. Sarina rang her before the latest squad was announced and told her that as she spent 5 months out injured and has been playing out of position for Everton since her return, to go and get international minutes under her belt for the u21's rather than sit on the bench for the senior squad.

She captained the u21's to a win against Norway last week.

If this is the thread to extend the talk to the current round of internationals, anybody know why Syd hasn't featured in either game for Germany? She was definitely called up, but not on the bench for either game.

Also, I watched the highlights of Japan-Canada 2 this morning. Yui was captain in the first half and then substituted for the second, which seemed a bit odd as she'd sat out the first match entirely. (The Japan keeper was stretchered off after 11 mins, but Yama stayed on the bench. Aoba played the bulk of both matches though.)

I wonder with Lohmann if it's because she's just come back from injury? I believe Aoba scored. Bunny got a hatrick as well

Was reported last week that she'd had some muscular problems and wouldn't feature in either game.

Lohmann misses games

Beney also scored for Switzerland in a 3-2 defeat to Wales
