Saturday 4th June. Wembley. 16:45.

Goalkeepers
Joe Hart, Scott Carson, Rob Green

Glen Johnson, Kyle Walker, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry, Gary Cahill, Phil Jagielka, Joleon Lescott, Ashley Cole, Leighton Baines

The Walcott, Ashley Young, James Milner, Frank Lampard, Michael Carrick, Jack Wilshere, Scott Parker, Gareth Barry, Stewart Downing, Adam Johnson

Darren Bent, Peter Crouch, Bobby Zamora

Jermaine Defoe also out injured now. What a shite group of strikers.

------------------------Hart

Johnson --- Ferdinand ---- Terry ---- Cole

-------- Parker ------------- Wilshere-------

Downing ----------- Lampard ----------- Young

----------------- Bent----------------

Think we'll line up like that, though I'd prefer to see a few younger faces in the back 4. Possibly Lescott/Cahill for Ferdinand if he's crocked. Would like to see Johnson play some minutes for Downing. Think he'd be great in a 4-3-3 like we played against Wales. Slightly tougher opposition this time so let's hope we keep improving.

The two big problems with this England side are the lack of strikers and a defense that just doesn't work together. I think considering the striker situation we have to stay far away from Capellos 4-4-2

I'd go for this line up

Hart
Johnson Cahill Terry Cole
Parker Wilshire
Walcott Milner Johnson
Bent

First off, i'm wishing Johnson was Micah Richards like alot of you. Also I decided to get rid of the likes of Lampard because I think the England squad needs freshening up, sadly when it comes to LB it will be cole until we one day come up with a new one. Small chance I'd have Barry where parker is (and swap him and wilshire around) but I think Parker is better.

Milner isn't quite creative enough to play behind the strikers. I'd rather have Wilshere in there if Lampard isn't playing. I wouldn't be too sad about Cole at left back either. He's still the best all round left back in the world for me. Not as good as Baines' delivery but excellent going forward nonetheless.

True, I guess it's just I like Milner and i'd rather see him step forward and take a place in the squad rather than hanging on to the likes of gerrard and lampard until they are far too old and their replacements are equally as old.

I mention sad about Cole as although he's good undoubtedly I don't really see a true replacement coming through for him, unlike our midfield which seems to be getting packed lately.

I think as our current crop of Defenders are fazed out we are going to have to rely on defensive midfielders to cover them, I just don't trust them to hold a line by themselves (this might in fact just be based on my complete lack of trust for Englands back four anyway).

What do you think to perhaps Lescott starting?

We have to compensate for a lack in quality strikers.

That should be just about enough to beat the Swiss.

Joe Hart must piss himself laughing when he sees that his competition is Carson and Green.

I remember the days Joe Corrigan couldn't get a look in because Shilton & Clemence were ahead of him.

Me too although I always regarded Joe as better than Clemence and equal to Shilton.

There was one season where he singlehandedly kept us in the first division.

I know how you feel with the strikers, i'd say luckily we've got Andy Carrol and Sturridge waiting in the wings but i'd reckon Sturridge will barely ever get a spot on the team. This based on two sad facts: No matter how shit Rooney plays internationally, he will always come first until he's about 30. Sturridge might not get the playing time he certainly deserves at chelsea when they are willing to go out and spend £50million on people like Torres.

I trust Bent though, he's got a strange ability to score very consistantly.
